Review: Mio Knight Rider GPS

It's been a rough couple of decades for Knight Rider fans. In 1982 the show's co-star, an AI-enhanced Trans Am named KITT, stole our nerdy...

OMFG – KITT just asked me where I wanted to go!” Acquires reliably and routes quickly form a cold start. Slim, light, and stylistically accurate form factor. 4.3-inch touchscreen is both bright and responsive. Amusing (but distracting) voice activated...

Essentially a pricey Knight Rider paintjob on a cheaper device. Only traffic capable through additional accessory and subscription. Included car charger, wall charger, and dash mount look/feel ridiculously cheap. Advanced POI functions (i.e., searches...

Mio Knight Rider GPS review: Mio Knight Rider GPS - Roadshow

Mio Knight Rider GPS

The Mio Knight Rider GPS features the original voice of KITT from the TV show and also has flashing LEDs to make a GPS like no other. The portable navigation system is easy to use and compact.

Text-to-speech functionality doesn't come out of the box; you have to load it from the software CD. The hardware feels a bit cheap, and route recalculations can sometimes be slow.

The Mio Knight Rider GPS is a portable navigation device like no other, featuring the voice of KITT, but behind all the fun, you'll also find a solid, entry-level in-car GPS.

Mio Knight Rider GPS Review

A GPS unit with classic 80s Knight Rider styling and the original voice of K.I.T.T. to give directions: Mio could've filled the box with rocks and still sold thousands to loyal fans of the TV series. Mio insist though that, behind the gimmicks, there's...

Maps aren't up to date and battery life stinks. ”

At first this GPS system seemed to work great. After a few weeks of using it we found out the battery dies quickly and the maps are not all accurate. I also don't like that you can't add your own name. You have to use whatever is already in the system...

Kinda cool, but that wears off quickly

I've had the unit for about a week now, and for the most part it's a good unit. I love the fact that you can get a route mapped out using only a street name, an intersection, or even just a zip code (in the latter case it will route you to the center...

Knight Rider not too accurate

It shows my home address as being about seven house numbers away from where it really is. Vendor says they 'calculate' your address by estimating size of lots.

After many months of enjoying this GPS unit, I thought I would add more to my first review and also clear up some inconsistencies with some of the other reviews.

Great GPS system

I generally use this product for personal use. This is the first time that I have purchased a GPS system. I like the voice command, but it does not have the correct location of my Home location. I'm not sure how I am able to correct this little...
