Pharos iGPS-180

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Good Alternative to Overpriced GPS systems

Less than 200 dollars Works with minimal set up allows you to only download the maps you want/need suprisingly good customer service and updates from pharos once you register the product.

Have to have a good, reliable, newer PDA to prevent lag and freezes.

Good Alternative to Overpriced GPS systems

Overall great value.. will hold me over until I can afford a nicely equipped Garmin. Make sure you have at least a 2 gig card for your PDA for map storeage.. I have a 4 gig and I used 2 already on maps of the east coast and south east Canada.

Less than 200 dollars ; Works with minimal set up ; allows you to only download the maps you want/need ; suprisingly good customer service and updates from pharos once you register the product

Have to have a good, reliable, newer PDA to prevent lag and freezes. (I have an iPAQ hx4000 and run with no probs but i know some who have run into a little lag with older models) Lots of wires... rather unsitely in the vehicle. A GIANT silver sticker...

Don't waste your money

I bought this to work with my IPAQ PDA. Initially it worked fine, but now it is hit and miss. Sometimes the maps won't download the software constantly freezes. Good when it works but don't rely on it to do so.

Easy to use and navigate. Includes great features that are easy to use while driving

Unreliable, software freezes. Never know when it is actually going to work properly

Slightly problematic for me at times

I have a Dell Axim PDA with which I use the Pharos GPS receiver. The product is kind of quirky, and takes some getting used to in order for it to work properly. I think at times I had to plug everything in in a specific sequence, or the GPS wouldn't...

Neat features, good product support

random problems with little explanation, requires external power supply
