Pharos Traveler GPS 525

The Pharos Traveler GPS 525 combines a Windows Mobile PDA with built-in GPS.

Small and light. Sensitive SiRF Star III GPS receiver. Fully functional Windows Mobile 5 PDA with Wi-Fi.

Small, reflective screen. You have to load maps manually from CDs for locations other than the 50 preloaded cities.

Performance

Pharos Traveler GPS 525 - handheld - Windows Mobile 5.0

Tiny and pocket-friendly, the Pharos Traveler GPS 525 has a powerful GPS receiver that doesn't require a fold-out antenna. It also comes with lots of maps, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and it has solid battery life.

The Pharos Traveler GPS 525's screen is too small to use in a car, its audio is about as bad as it gets, and without a hold switch, it can inadvertently be turned on in a bag, leaving you with a dead battery.

Maps and personal data go hand in hand with the Pharos Traveler GPS 525, a PDA that effectively combines organization with navigation to not only find where you are but also point you where to go.

A Truly Pocketable All-In-One Package - The Pharos Traveler GPS 525 (Part 1)

In January 2006, Pharos announced the Traveler GPS 525 unit as the first Windows Mobile 5 based unit combining WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS capabilities within a single pocket-sized package, designed for the mobile professional. Since early March, I've had...

Small, lightweight, pocketable package ; Excellent package of accessories included ; Sensitive WiFi transceiver; easy to set up ; Maps included in purchase price

No cradle for office use ; Battery life is not sufficient for full ‘Pocket PC/PIM’ use ; Limited bluetooth profiles (e.g. no headset support)

Anger with a touch of fear

Small, cheap compared to others, and all the wireless stuff is nice too.

Mine does not work very well.

GPS Does Work (You Just Need Software)

My comments would be a little bias because I work for the company :-) I'm posting a review for this device because of some of the other reviews that have put false information.

Again, my opinion would be a little biased.

Very handy...

This is a very small pocket pc - I carry it around in my trouser pocket all the time, and it really doesn't show.

None really at this point.

Very handy...

I bought this right before leaving for a road trip over Christmas, so we learned how to use it "on the job," so to speak. I put Delxxme's mapping software on it, and it worked great. As with any new gadget, it takes some getting used to, but since I...

This is a very small pocket pc - I carry it around in my trouser pocket all the time, and it really doesn't show. The GPS is accurate, starts quickly, and uses very little power. The pocket pc can run for several hours without running the battery down....

None really at this point. It's a really good GPS pocket pc
