TomTom GO 2405 TM review

TomTom GO 2405 TM

The TomTom Go's glass capacitive touch screen is super-responsive and does a good job of showing off the updated interface's crisp graphics. TomTom's menu structure receives a major overhaul and is now much easier to use. Bluetooth hands-free calling,...

The voice command system doesn't feature onscreen prompts or much spoken guidance, leaving users to check the manual to learn what commands are available. While much easier to use, TomTom's interface can still be a bit confusing and overwhelming as new...

The new Go 2405 TM and 2505 TM are among the best GPS devices that TomTom has ever made, packing loads of useful features into a handsome chassis for a pretty good price.

TomTom GO 2405 TM

Besides being a stellar navigator, the TomTom Go 2405 TM GPS features a beautiful glass capacitive touch screen and an easy-to-use magnetized mount.

Bright, glass capacitive touch screen. Attractive, detailed map graphics. Magnetized mount. Clearest voice prompts we've heard to date. Lifetime traffic reports are free and don't display ads. Very fast route recalculations.

A little buggy. Screen resolution is the same as older TomTom devices. Not the thinnest GPS around.

As before, you can search for points of interest either near you or in a city. The unit's type-ahead feature lets it start to narrow down possible matches with the first few letters. I had no problem finding all of the nearby POIs I searched for. The...

Consumer review (cnet.com)

"10 days with me, and I love it. Flexibly Rigid"

Great over all GPS, even with few missing options, on the bright side, all those additional features that lacks might have an affect on the performance of the GPS. But I do like to see a fix to the view of the Hiway problem I stated in Cons. All...

So many menus and settings, lifetime map and traffic updates, ability to do map corrections. traffic ability worked well in Toronto GTA area, not sure in other places. Easy interface when you play with it for few hours. voice command is not bad.

Lack Picture viewer, mp3 player, audio jack ,radio transmitter, and memory card slot. old fashion voice instructions.

"Battery dead in a few months"

It's a marginal device when the battery is working, and an abysmal one when it stops. Save yourself the trouble and get a Garmin.

- Free traffic and map updates

- slow response time to touches

Stylish but sucks.

Hello, i bought this Tomtom GPS (GO 2405 TM) in dec, and was eager to try out the Live traffic. Come to realize that after speaking to 2 tech supports from TomTom, who assured me that London is covered for live traffic, that London is infact NOT...

Terrible battery problems, otherwise decent.

After an update, the unit acts as though the battery is discharged, even though it reports it at 90%. As soon as the device is unplugged, it briefly shows low batttery then immediately shuts down even though it's set not too.

Last TomTom

The battery failed in my three month old TomTom G0 2405TM. I was forced to pay return postage in order to receive a replacement. The replacement is a refurbished unit which is, in all probability, older than my three month old unit. I was a converted...

Battery Problems!

My unit worked great for the first month and a half but then the battery stopped charging and would only work when plugged into the car adaptor. This means you can't use it unless it's plugged into a power source like the car or a computer. This is...
