TomTom Go 300

Top-notch design, slick GPS maps, fast lookups, and optional services justify the Go 300's price.

Great design, extensive features

Expensive, annoying business lookups

When we first reviewed the TomTom GO, in October 2004, we were extremely impressed by its handling and 3D navigation view. The new TomTom GO 300 keeps the best features of its intuitive original interface and even offers some improvements, such as an...

Antiglare touch screen ; 1GB SD card ; very portable, and practical even for pedestrian use

Would like to see text-to-speech technology integrated into vocalized directions

With a new antiglare touch screen, preloaded maps for the entire U.S., and an itinerary-planning menu, the TomTom GO 300 is one of the best midrange products on the market.

TomTom GO 300

Fast route calculation; accurate receiver; maps preloaded on SD card.

Intermittently slow satellite acquisition; screen quality could be better.

The TomTom GO 300 delivers lightning-fast route calculations, colorful maps, and concise audible driving directions. We only wish the screen were easier to view in bright sunlight.

TomTom GO 300

Touchscreen LCD, excellent mapping software, Bluetooth capabilities, extremely customisable

Address searching can be improved, no speed camera or safety warnings, no external volume control

With an excellent map display, easy-to-use interface and clear audio instructions, the TomTom GO 300 has nearly all the features drivers need in a GPS system.
