Beats Flex review: More bass, more battery, half the price

Even if Apple had simply sliced the price of the BeatsX in half, we'd be happy, but the Flex's bigger battery, great sound, and auto-pause option seal the deal.

Great price ; Comfortable ; Very good sound quality ; Very good call quality ; Easy pairing with Apple products

Quick charging is slower than BeatsX ; Controls can be a bit finicky to use ; USB-C charging cable doesn’t fit regular USB ports ; No official IPX rating

Beats Flex Review

Affordable ; Powerful, bass-forward performance ; Apple's W1 chip provides seamless integration with iOS devices and audio sharing functionality

No water-resistance rating ; USB-C charging only

The Beats Flex earphones offers a bass-forward sound signature and the easy connectivity of Apple’s W1 chip for just $50.

Beats Flex review: wireless earbud basics done right

Lengthy battery life, easy-to-use controls, and decent sound quality.

Improved battery life ; USB-C connector ; Easy-to-use controls

Not rated for sweat resistance ; So-so noise isolation ; No automatic device switching

The new $49.99 Beats Flex are neckband-style earbuds with 12-hour battery life, easy-to-use controls, and decent sound quality. They’re the first Beats earbuds with a USB-C connector, a sign that the company is trying to appeal more to Android users.

Beats Flex Review – EarPods’ Eulogy

It's fair to say that the big Beats Flex news last week got buried under confirmation that you won't get headphones in the iPhone 12 box. Apple's thinking is that most people eith…

Most affordable Beats earbuds so far ; Apple W1 makes pairing easy ; Music quality punches above the price tag ; Great battery life

Doesn't get Apple's newest audio chipset ; Auto-pause is a little clunky ; Beats doesn't include a carrying pouch ; No water resistance

Beats Flex Wireless Review

The Beats Flex Wireless are colorful budget-friendly in-ears with a neck cable. They have a simple, comfortable, and lightweight design that feels well-built. Th...

Good build quality. Reduces mid-range noise like office chatter. Comfortable, stable fit.

No IP rating. No EQ. Mediocre performing integrated mic. Struggles to cut down bass-range noise. No NFC or multi-device pairing.

The Beats Flex are okay for neutral sound. Their bass-heavy sound profile is better-suited for genres like EDM and hip-hop, especially as their underemphasized treble range veils vocals and dull sibilants. Due to their closed-back, in-ear design, they...

Beats Flex wireless earbuds review: An impressive value for just $49

Beats Flex are wireless "all-day" Bluetooth headphones with USB-C charging that are both sweat and water-resistant. They have the Apple/Beats look going for them, and they offer great sound quality, but they are light on Beats Flex are wireless...

Premium audio that you’d expect from pricier earbuds ; 12-hour battery with 10-minute quick charge ; USB-C Charging ; Double flange ear tips included ; Sweat and water-resistant

Headband design is awkward and the cords rub against our face ; No “Hey Siri” function ; No carrying case ; Microphone picks up background noise

Beats Flex wireless earbuds sound really good and they pair seamlessly with iPhone

Beats Flex review

At $50, the Beats Flex is a slam-dunk purchase with solid overall performance.

Lengthy battery life ; Instantaneous, reliable connectivity ; Strong mics for calls and digital assistant use ; Intuitive, responsive controls ; Superb sound for movies and podcasts

Audio for music could be better ; No IP rating

Still, the overall performance the Beats Flex gives you should warrant a higher price, so consider these buds an uber-generous offer from the trailblazing audio brand.

Beats Flex review

Do Beats Flex earbuds offer unbeatable value, or should they just beat it?

Good value ; 12 hour battery life ; Decent sound quality

You’re still paying for the brand ; Neckband is a little too long

Beats Flex represent a different approach from the premium audio company, and it's one that it has mostly nailed here. They offer solid audio output, good battery life and that all important style factor. Realistically, you can get the same or better...

Beats Flex Review: Best Budget Buds

I've reviewed a lot of true wireless earbuds over the last year, but it's been a hot minute since I took a set of neckbuds for a whirl. The Beats Flex have been an excellent reminder that this type of earbud is still such a great choice if you want a...

Lacking a strong low end ; No power-on sound
