Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones (Black) review

If you're looking for noise-isolating earbuds, the Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones ($99) are not for you. Although they have silicone tips that protrude slightly into your ear canal, they are not meant to protect your ears from screaming children on...

The Bose TriPort In-Ear headphones have strong bass and good overall detail, and they're not intrusive in your ear canal.

The Bose TriPort In-Ear headphones don't block out any noise, and the fit doesn't feel quite as secure as advertised. The silicone tips come off very easily, and pick up tons of dirt.

The Bose In-Ear Headphones are a hybrid set, falling right between regular earbuds and canalphones. They don't block out noise, but they do provide much more bass than stock earbuds--almost too much, in fact.

Bose TriPort (Glacier Blue)

The company's TriPort headphone set costs half the price of the QuietComfort 2 but doesn't feature active noise-cancellation technology. Still, could it be the better bargain? Read the full review to find out.

Lightweight and comfortable design; sealed ear cups isolate wearer from ambient noise.

Headphones don't fold up for storage; dual-corded design.

This TriPort set is the poor man's QuietComfort 2.

Bose TriPort Around-Ear Headphones

Fairly comfortable and easy to wear for hours. Fairly musical sounding, especially with dance and hip-hop tracks. Fairly coherent across the frequency spectrum making them far less tiring to listen to. 30-day money back guarantee

Not as dynamic sounding as other headphones available at the same price. Can be less than inspiring with certain types of music. Build quality is only above average considering the cost

An above average sounding pair of around-the-ear headphones that do justice to certain recordings, but fail to inspire with others. One could probably do better at this price point with models from Grado, Sennheiser, AKG, and Audio-Technica.

Bose On-Ear TriPort headphones review

I would like to start off by saying that I am no audiophile. I am an unapologetic bass head and I don't give a rat's ass about frequency curves, headphone specs or “natural, balanced sound.” In other words, I'm ignorant, but I know what sound I like. I...

Review: Bose TriPort IE In-Ear Headphones

When you first see Bose's TriPort IE In-Ear Headphones ($100), you'll be surprised by their larger-than-average physical size and odd styling, but they're actually the company's smallest earphones yet. Best known for its larger, earcup-style TriPort...

Bose's smallest earphones, delivering price-appropriate sound detail and a typically warm sound signature, with unusually detailed stereo staging by earbud standards. Includes nice magnet and leather carrying case with cord manager

Odd silicone ear tips will have serious fit problems in many users' ears, rarely providing the isolation, snugness, or consistency of sound of competing designs at this or lower price points ; some users will find these to be lacking in treble detail...

Right - an they are not noise reducing/canceling. I expected more from bose. My wife just uses her iPod earbuds

If they were $150 cheaper they would be a very reasonable choice but as it stands the TriPorts are a little too expensive and suffer from over-emphatic bass.

Noise cancelling, Comfortable

Poor bass quality, Overall poor sound, Flimsy construction

Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones

The Bose In-Ear Headphones are a hybrid set, falling right between regular earbuds and canalphones. They don't block out noise, but they do provide much more bass than stock earbuds -- almost too much, in fact.

Strong bass ; Good overall detail ; Not intrusive in your ear canal

Don't block out any noise ; Fit doesn't feel quite as secure as advertised ; Silicone tips come off very easily and pick up tons of dirt

At AU$149, the Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones cater to a very niche market. If you're a die-hard Bose fan, you've probably already bought them, but if you're looking for something in between canalphones and standard earbuds, these are a viable option....
