I wasn't a fan of the original Fatal1ty Gaming Headset. The design was fine, but the audio wasn't. The $79.99 (direct) Creative Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset HS-1000 does better. Though unlike it's predecessor, the headset can't plug into sound cards or...

Decent headphone, mic quality. Very good X-Fi software drivers.

Fit is a little tight for those with large heads. Possible volume problems on some systems.

The Creative Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset HS-1000 is a good sub-$100 USB headset.

Creative HS-1000 Fatal1ty

 

Creative's Fatal1ty-endorsed headset improves upon a few of the problems of its wireless counterpart, and is a very strong product that stands well even without comparison.

Comfortable fit, Ear cups that surround the ear, Consistent surround across different standards, Good controls, Good general use product

Poor documentation, Microphone levels are fairly low, Detachable microphone, Control LED has a design flaw, Installation problem in Vista

Its extremely good 3D positional audio will be indispensable for any gamer

Lacks 3.5 mm jack, cans may be a little tight for some, software could have included VoiceFX

best headset i have ever owned... i have gone through multiple motherboards and coputers but this has held up strong, even after disconnecting and reconnecting the MIC after every use it works flawlessly ( bought it in 09, still works in 12'.) even...

Great headset

 

Don't use the supplied installation disc if you have Vista except for Windows to use as reference. I installed the programs on the disc first and tried the headset and it wouldn't work then when I tried it using the Windows auto install it worked fine.

Great padding, excellent range of sound from highs to bass lows. Comes with a padded bag for storage and transport

Microphone detaches instead of just flipping upwards

Do not buy!

 

I didn't buy this product from newegg, I bought it from a retail store that I had a gift card to. When I returned it the salesman at the retail store recommended a plantronics headset that was slightly more expensive. I bought it and it is awesome!...

Looks cool, I like how the mic can be taken off. It comes with a cool looking carrying bag. The sound quality was awesome when playing music, but I returned it before I tried it in a game

I could NEVER get the mic to work. I was troubleshooting it for several hours and couldn't get it to work. Also the part that goes around your ears hurts after a while and isn't deep enough

Underrated

 

Overall a great headset, especially if you can get it on sale. One of the best, or better headsets I've ever worn and I put it up there with Sennheiser.

I've noticed that a lot of people have had issues with the headphones, but they are worth it in my opinion. They are great headphones and people that swear them off are out of their mind. I don't think that the earcups are too small or anything like...

I worry about the mic a little bit. Reason being is pro and con. Its awesome that you can remove the mic when you're not using it, but I worry that over time the connection could get bad due to constant plug and unplug-guess time will tell
