Grado GS1000

The Grado GS1000 headphones are very likely the greatest-sounding headphones ever made--and are priced accordingly.

The best audio performance in headphones available. Rich, unexaggerated bass. Mid and high frequencies are precise and crisp. Beautiful, unique design.

Extremely expensive. Large size and outward sound projection are a drag for travelers.

Grado GS1000i review

We know they look odd, and they leak your musical tastes to those nearby, but we can't recommend these can enough for sonic quality

Extraordinarily open and detailed ; clarity and realism, great dynamics

Very leaky, sonically speaking ; odd-looking when worn

A fabulous pair of headphones: they’re not for the train, and they don’t protect those around you from hearing what you’re listening to – but for sheer sonic pleasure they’re stunning

If the looks and price don't put you off, these amazing Grados are the audiophile answer to late-night listening - just add headphone amp and a worthy source to fully enjoy

Awesome scale and dynamics ; incredibly revealing sound ; comfortable to wear

The open-backed design allows sound leakage ; requires decent partnering kit

The most expensive headphones we've ever reviewed are really quite ugly. But can the sound quality bring us round?

Simply the best headphones money can buy, but not for use with an iPod

A grand for a pair of headphones? You can buy a pair for a tenner, and a good pair for just £100. Grado may have to do some justifying here.Appearances are promising, though,

Performace better than we thought possible, Admirably unfussy

This may well be the finest electricity-to-sound transducer in the world
