Review: Griffin EarThumps

When you see white earbuds, what comes to mind? Duh—Apple's iPod (or its ripoffs) and white earbuds go hand-in-hand, even if the iPod is not white, but blue, green, pink, gold, silver, or black. This automatically lets thieves know what you're...

Increased bass, more isolated than Apple's earbuds, inexpensive, color choices

Midrange and treble suffer

The EarThumps sound pretty good for the price—you can do a lot worse for $20.

Review - Griffin EarThumps Earphones

EarThumps are so named, I'm guessing, because of the deep bass they deliver. Deep bass. When I first tried these out, I was amazed at the amount of bass I was hearing, especially when compared to my somewhat tinny Altec Lansing OYOYO YO302WHT...

If the EarThumps were any more expensive, I'd probably drop them another rating point. But at $30, they're a great value. They're much better than Apple's earbud headphones, and they're just as convenient. They can be easily packed in any case built to...

Color coordinate your earphones and iPod

Great value at $19.99 for sound and function

Have to disconnect headphones from music device to store in case. Inserts highlight earwax on them

White headphone cords have become ubiquitous in this age of portable music players. The previously distinctive and bold white earphones are what the public expects to see. Following Apple’s release of black iPod products Griffin Technology followed s

Griffin EarThumps review

Don't let the low price put you off...

Great price ; Improvement over bundled earphones

Not for audiophiles ; Or anyone other than the casual listener for that matter

For those who're looking for some buds that reduce background noise, produce improved sound quality and don't fall out easily

One Ear Better Than The Other

I found the Griffin Technology EarThumps Headphones to be comfortable, but not quite a durable as I would have liked.

Stylish, affordable, comfortable

Chord shorts too quickly

High Quality, Reasonable Price

I was looking for a pair good earbuds to replace the ones that came with my Creative Zen Xtra mp3 player, since those are horrible. After much debate, I decided to go with these, even though at the time they were new and didn't have many online...

Good sound, stylish, excellent ambient noise reduction, reasonable price

Cord is not durable enough

Break easily, Save your money for better

I bought a pair in white from buy.com. They worked great for about 2 months, block out a good amount of noise, fit well. But after two months the cord started making a static sound when it was moved. So as I walked or touched the cord I would hear static.

Cheap, fits pretty well, blocks a good amount of noise

Don't last more than a few months, poorly made. Muffled sound in ears

muffled sound

These should be called earmuffs as they have a muffled unclear sound. If your player has any bass enhancement, it will just get worse fast. I usually make sure the bass is flat and turn up the treble to try to get clear sound out of these (an eq really...

Small and light, relatively inexpensive

boomy muffled sound with poor definition

Your ears will thank you for them

I absolutely hated the headphones that came with my ipod. I found them uncomfortable, annoying, and they made me feel like I was wearing them for a while after I took them off.

Size, carrying case, colors

haven't found anything yet

Griffin Earthumps

Simple design, they look much more expensive than they were.

Poor isolation of external sound, always kept falling out of my ears, quite poor sound quality.
