MEElectronics A151 (Black) review

We've reviewed several MEElectronics headphones and generally have been impressed with their value proposition. They tend to deliver good bang for the buck and the company's A151 balanced-armature in-ear headphone is one of the better sounding...

The MEElectronics A151 earphones offer comfortable fit and very detailed sound for an affordable price. They also come with a carrying case.

No integrated microphone for making cell phone calls; bass-lovers will probably find the bass a little too thin for their tastes.

At around $50 online, the MEElectronics A151s are among the most affordable balanced-armature earphones out there and deliver very good sound for the money.

MEElectronics A151 In-Ear Monitors review

Let's begin with the price: the MEElectronics A151 earphones are priced at under P3k, which puts this excellent mid-range in-ear monitors squarely within the reach of most people. It comes in an unassuming box, without manuals or literature of any...

Booming bass, yet great mids and highs ; Good no-tangle design for the cable ; Drapes over and behind the ears, conveniently out of the way ; Great selection of ear tips

Durability of the cord’s no-tangle design is worrisome ; Slight distortion at full volume ; A bit too warm

But on the whole the MEElectronics A151 In-Ear Monitors are more than adequate, and is a great and reasonably priced alternative to the pricier cans out there.

MEElectronics A151 Review

So “who's the king of the hill”? Depending on whom you are speaking with, what the flavor of the month is and which way the wind is blowing you will hear various responses; JH Audio, Ultimate Ears, Sennheiser, Shure, 1964 Ears, etc. All kidding aside,...

Great value for price ; Very comfortable and non-fatiguing ; Good detail and accurate sound reproduction ; Good light weight cable, almost microphonics free

Minor point – I prefer right angle 3.5mm plug over included straight plug ; Poor stress relief on the 3.5mm straight plug ; Loss of detail in the sub-bass region and at the very top end of the spectrum

So “who’s the king of the hill?” Hmm, all in all I really like these earphones; they have great value for the asking price and perform very well overall. What's not to like with attributes such as: good isolation, comfortable to wear, lightweight and...

The best value balanced earphones out there

Compared to other balanced-armature earphones out there, these offer incredible value for money. They accurately reproduce your music with fidelity and detailed finesse, at half the price of their competitors. Impressive stuff!

Pristine detail Finely-tuned, balanced sound Incredible value

Not for the bass-hungry

Consumer review (cnet.com)

Incredible for Budget Analytical Audiophiles

First of, the A151 is a balanced armature earphone. For most people, this will be the first balanced armature driver they have ever had. Balanced armature earphones are generally known for having fantastic mids, detailed highs and a low amount of bass....

Amazing detailed mids, durable cable, Great warranty

Treble roll-off(Could be a pro), not for basslovers

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Eh

The multiple ear buds helped provide a variety of fittings. The cord quality was high. The connection to the device was firm

The bass was missing. I was replacing a thread bare pare of MEElectronics buds that had great bass. The ones I was replacing were <$20, I thought this pair would be an improvement. Sad to be returning them so soon
