Meze Audio 105 AER open-backed headphones are a lesson to high-end audio brands: you can let us mere mortals in on it too

Open-backed wired over-ear headphones that easily trounce all rivals at the level – and I don't say that lightly

Informative, balanced and entertaining sound ; Comfortable even over the longer haul ; Built and finished to an impressive standard

Crying out for a balanced cable option ; May prove too large for some smaller-headed listeners

As long as the compromises inherent in a hard-wired, open-backed headphone design aren’t a deal-breaker for you, there’s really nothing to take any issue with here. The Meze Audio 105 AER are a fine pair of headphones and well worth the asking price.
