Microsoft Life Chat ZX-6000 review

Ah, the joys of chat

Decent sound quality ; Comfortable

A little on the expensive side

There are certainly cheaper options, but not many are as comfortable and effective to use

Yes! You too can chat about life - praise be to Microsoft. What would the world be like without Big Business facilitating communication between us proles? We'd all be shouting at the moon and throwing our faeces around, probably

Headsets without Wires : Microsoft LifeChat ZX-6000 and Jabra SP5050 Bluetooth Speakerphone

Two headsets for different purposes, one from Microsoft that was originally developed for X-Box use and the second from Jabra that is designed to fit onto a car sun visor.

Microsoft LifeChat ZX-6000 This device was first created for use with a X-Box but have been given a new life to work with a PC. It is stated to work with all flavours of XP or Vista. The base station fits in any USB port it is 6.5x4x1.5cm and it has a...

Decent Headset

Generally good product, and well worth it if you want a wireless headset for Skype

Fits comfortably on my ear(cant really speak for others), and I have been very pleased with the product. It isnt the best, but for the price, and the wireless functionality it is a good product

The sound quality is not the best. If you are looking for something with good sound, look elsewhere. Sounds fine when you are talking with one person, but music and multiple people talking is where the problem lies

Headset works

Bought this because the wireless headset I used broke, and replacements not available. Wanted something NOT bluetooth, as that tech has a few kinks to work out with connectivity. This was bought with the intent to clean up the wires around the systems...

Battery life is 8+ hrs on a charge, fits over the ear for a snug, close fit. Works with Skype, Voice Recognition. Distance from transmitter in home is about 20ft, but this is due to the structure of the building rather than limits to the device

Tinny 'telephone' quality audio. No enhancements to the sound. Volume is low to super low. Odd beeps & ; whistles while in operation

Its fine if you aren't picky

The sound bothered me at first, but Im a tolerant person and I've gotten use to it to a point where I never notice the difference. I needed a wireless headset, and this one does fine.

Its incredibly cheap for a wireless headset, definately the only affordable one I could find unless your computer has bluetooth enabled.

The sound is a bit botchy and the battery life is fairly short, easy to just leave it charging every night.

Not as bad as previous poster mentioned.

I paid about $30 for this thing with rebates and instant savings about a year ago. The only other headsets that could compare to this were in $150+ range. So for the $$$ and the looks with that comfort/discomfort its worth it. Unless you ok with using...

Ok, i got this thing when it was first released. I think they might of changed the older version with a new but w/e. First time when i got it it actually didnt work at all like the previous poster mentioned. So i called microsoft after about 20 mins of...

Bad sound, low outgoing on mic and no mic boost voice. But it works. I mainly use it for WoW when we raid and ventrilio is up.

Piece of Junk

I am not picky about technology, but this headset goes beyond BAD. I can not believe Microsoft actually put this for sale. I have a Microsoft Webcam and Mouse/Keyboard combo and I am very satisfied with them. I got the headset for free from a friend -...

None. I purchased the one with the USB adapter in the package.

Low quality sound, it sounds like a 32 kbps MP3 when you listen to music over it and people's voices are just as bad. Microphone volume is ridiculously low and there is NO Mic Boost that you can enable even with the newest drivers.

Keep your charger close at hand

The battery on the headset wears down quickly. Your best bet is to keep it on the charger when it's not on your ear.

Comfortable,Easy Installation,Easy To Use

Loses charge quickly

I was very happy with the deal I got with this purchase. I read reviews and followed instructions. The voice is clear but keeps on disconnecting. I do not recommend buying this device.
