Monster Powerbeats by Dr. Dre earphones

Dr. Dre Powerbeats review: 'Sports' headphones that are sturdy but sometimes uncomfortable

Good design and build quality ; Clear sound quality ; Good on-ear clamping force

Uncomfortable and stiff earpieces ; Bass is a little weak

Monster's Powerbeats by Dr. Dre sports earphones stick to your ears well and are sturdy enough to survive a few accidental drops - but we found them a little uncomfortable. The headphones' sound quality isn't quite worth the $229 asking price, though -...

Monster Beats by Dre Powerbeats review

The styling is certainly in-your-face, but these Powerbeats have great accuracy and control to offer

Great detailing, balanced sound, stay in position, amazing accuracy and control

In your face styling

Get past the gaudy styling and these over-ears are worth a listen

Monster Powerbeats

Powerbeats are a pair of sporty in-earphones that live up to the marketing hype of the Beats by Dr. Dre franchise with high quality all-round sound and rugged stability to boot.

Stays on firm when running/exercising; high sound quality on all levels; inline mic and volume/call controls

Pricey option; obtrusive hearing-aid design; physical quality can be flimsy

What's in a name?

I'm mid 50's and wanted a decent set of sports earphones for distance running. My kids recommended this brand. JB's salespeople recommended this model. The sound is ok and the fit comfortable but external sweat destroys the electronics in <6 weeks!...

Over ear fit attachment design and in-ear comfort

Not suitable for any activity where the users may sweat and users body makes contact with the control buttons.
