The Philips SBC-HN110 headphones are too lightweight and their noise attenuation of just 10dB is not enough to really deal with unwanted sounds.

A good value in noise-canceling headphones

 

I purchased these headphones to use with a portable DVD player. While using the DVD player on an airplane, the engine noise made it hard to hear the movie, even with the volume turned as high as it would go.

Effective in reducing noise; well suited for travel
