Philips SHP9500 HiFi Precision Stereo HEADPHONES

The Phillips SHP9500 are a great pair of budget critical listening headphones. They're incredibly comfortable and have a sturdy yet lightweight build that feels durable. They're not casual headphones that can be used outdoors, but they deliver a good,...

Comfortable design. ; Good audio reproduction. ; Durable build.

Big and bulky headphones. ; Open-back design, so they leak a lot. ; Very sensitive to ambient noise, by design.

I must admit they are really Great headphone !

if your looking for ANY headphone or even gaming headset in the price range of any to 250$ i'd say buy it when its on rebate (mine was about 55% off) , for gaming snap a boompro mic on this and your good for a longggg time

- kinda light - adjustable fits all kind of head - very good comfort - nice design - sound is very good , there are bass with +1 eq on low and -1 on high

- when you play music with +- 70% sound volume these headphones leak ALOT of sound so much thats im thinking if its actually louder outside of the headphone or in the inside , im still not sure - Ear cups are not replaceable which would be really nice...

Amazing headphones for the price

Other than my two small cons, these headphones compare easily with headphones in the $300.00 to $500.00 range. Very very very good and I'll recommend these to anyone who is looking for great headphones on a small budget.

- Great sound - BEST comfort I've ever experienced with a headphone - Great build quality

- Cable was cheap - Ear cups not replaceable

Sounds Good

-would recommend to others -would purchase again

-more comfortable than some of the reviews make it seem -huge upgrade from my in-the-ear headphones -50mm drivers -works great with my gaming desktop -great value for the price -open back, yet cannot hear sound at normal volume from a foot away

-not ideal for someone looking for the best listening experience with no expense spared -not ideal for someone looking for an absolutely private listening experience

a shift in values.

wish there were more deals like this.

how I love bass, like I REALLY love bass, but these headphones, while falling flat in their face for my expectations for bass, have delivered a product that are not only the most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever worn, but have such sound...

like I said nooooooo bass, but look if these headphones had an increase in bass phillips should be charhe like three hundred for them min.

Very happy choosing these

I'm not an "audiophile" but sound is very important to me. I didn't even research this -- just bought - Philips tends to make some quality stuff and the price was good and my Sony's were wearing out. And the sound is much nicer than the Sony's I bought...

They sound better than the much more expensive Sony headphones they are replacing - just clearer somehow. More detailed. And they are way more comfortable -- the fit around my whole ear and my ears aren't exactly small. Very light. I'm completely happy...

I haven't discovered any yet.

Pretty great headphones

These are my first pair of open headphones, and (apparently) my first pair with a flat EQ, and I was surprised at the difference. I didn't realize how accustomed I was to the bass heavy echo chambers that are my ableplanet headphones(probably similar...

Really comfortable. Sound amazing. Seems like sturdy construction, but time will be the judge of that. Amazing deal at $60. Not bad at $100, but you could probably do better.

Pretty big phones, and no hard case included. Comes with a flimsy bag that you won't use. Not a big deal. $40 price difference between shell shocker and normal price. There's no way to eat a 40% discount unless your normal price is way too high.

Excellent headphones.

Everybody else has pretty much said it all.

Regarding the clamping force (or lack of it). I solved this issue by using a Sole (drop the "e", the editor rejected the correct name as inappropriate) Republics Tracks headphone replacement headband (The regular Tracks headband, not the wireless one)....

Absolutely fantastic

If you have a chance, listen to the 'LOST soundtrack' there are many different tracks with pianos and strings by a live orchestra. (my favorite track is the LOST - Life & Death Theme (All Variations) It's awesome! If you aren"t blown away from these...

I love the open ear style of this headphone. The sound is more 'full' and 'rich' and your ears can breathe while you listen to your music. I love to listen to all genres of music, though this particular set won't appeal to 'bass heads' ... There is...

Not heavy in bass for people who want their heads to vibrate. The bass is there, but it's level with the rest of the sound spectrum. No real cons for me though, except that they sound much less "awesome" when they are plugged into my laptop than when...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

This should be your first pair of "serious" headphones. You'll want to re-listen to your entire music library with these beauties.

These are on par with my current favorites, the very retro, very classic, very hard-to-power AKG K240 Sextett monitors with Brainwav HM5 earpads. Those headphones were discovered a thrift store and I wouldn't count on coming across another pair in good...

-sound quality -comfort -open sound -removable cable -standard cable -easy to power with portable devices -steel headband with good padding -styling is a striking mix of Grado and Euro-Industrial minimalist chic (save for garish white letters and...

-clamping force is low (need to be stationary when using these) -non-removable earpads -polarizing letter markings on earcups
