Plantronics RIG Surround

 

The Plantronics RIG Surround is a solid gaming headset with convenient support for both PCs and mobile devices, even if the surround part of its name doesn't quite ring true.

Easy setup. Comfortable. Can work with some game consoles. Excellent microphone.

Surround sound effect isn't convincing. Smartphone (and effectively game console) cable is too short. No stereo RCA option for consoles.

The Plantronics RIG Surround is an elegantly designed, simple-to-use gaming headset that offers solid audio performance for the price. Don't put too much stock into the so-called "surround" aspect of it, though; you're still dealing with two drivers...

Mix in music from your phone and answer calls with this gaming headset

Headset itself is well designed ; Headset provides decent audio quality ; Really useful to be able to mix in music and answer calls ; USB controller is easy to use

May be too bassy for some ; Mobile phone cable not included in box

The Plantronics Rig is a great headset that, because of its included USB amplifier, is a versatile one too, suitable at home and on the move. However, a few little grumbles mean it isn't quite a resounding success, though still well worth considering.

Plantronics RIG Surround Headphones

 

These are powerful headphones designed predominately for gamers as they are 7.1 channels, so you should be able to hear the slightest noise from far away and for a gamer this is possibly the difference between life and err death.
