Sennheiser PXC 550 review

With top-notch sound and whisper-soft noise cancelling, the Sennheiser PXC 550 puts Bose on notice.

With impressive sound performance, a sleek and comfy design, and Sennheiser’s best noise cancellation yet, the new PXC 550 are primed to be your next set of travel cans.

Does Sennheiser's PXC 550 wireless noise-canceling headphone beat Bose's QC35?

Sennheiser's latest wireless headphone is a very comfortable headphone that also includes active noise cancellation and works great as a headset for making calls.

The Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless is very comfortable, relatively lightweight over-ear wireless headphone that sounds very good and features impressive noise-cancellation technology. It has touch controls and delivers excellent performance as a headset....

It's pricier than the Bose; while the sound quality is excellent for Bluetooth, it's lacking that little bit of extra sparkle and definition (Sennheiser's own Momentum II Wireless sounds better).

While it doesn't quite eclipse the less-expensive Bose, the Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless headphone is comfortable and feature packed, and performs very well.

Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless

The Sennheiser PXC 550 headphones deliver excellent Bluetooth audio and noise cancellation in a feature-packed—if occasionally problematic—design.

Powerful, adjustable audio performance with rich bass depth and bright highs. Excellent noise cancellation circuitry. Includes a detachable audio cable for passive listening. Exceptionally comfortable.

Control pad is easy to misfire in certain modes. Possible to accidentally power the headphones up or down because of swiveling earcup controls. Digital signal processing is not for purists.

Conclusions Most headphones that offer Bluetooth audio and noise cancellation end up being solid Bluetooth headphones with lousy-to-decent noise cancellation. But Bose changed this trend recently with the excellent QuietComfort 35 , and we are also...

Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless HEADPHONES

The Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless are above-average and versatile headphones for most use cases. They have a great design, excellent active features, and a customizable sound that's suitable for critical listening. They're lightweight, comfortable and...

Highly customizable sound. ; Lightweight and sturdy build quality. ; Comfortable and stable fit.

Mediocre noise cancelation. ; Leaky at higher volumes.

Sennheiser PXC550 Review: Noise Cancelling Wireless Travel Headphones With Pristine Treble

The Sennheiser PXC 550 is an audio first, noise cancelling second headphones. Buy it for its audiophile excellence with pristine treble delivery.

The Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless is an audio first, noise cancelling second headphones. Among the ANC headphones I have reviewed so far, I would rank it the highest for its audiophile excellence with pristine treble delivery . The ANC is also among the...

Sennheiser PXC 550

The Sennheiser PXC 550 are wireless headphones with active noise cancellation, and go up against the Bose QC35 we reviewed and loved recently. This pair is a little more expensive at £329, but also offers a slightly more serious sound.

The Sennheiser PXC 550 are a set of high-quality active noise cancellation headphones with a boat-load of features – but they come at a price.

Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless review

Sennheiser strikes a blow with these talented wireless noise-cancellers...

Pleasing transparency for the price ; Top timing ; Clear and dynamic sound ; Smart, minimalist design ; Effective noise-cancellation

Slightly rich bass ; In-house competition

Sennheiser offers talented wireless noise-cancellers at an even more attractive price point

Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless review

Great sound quality, but at what cost?

Great sounding ; On/off control well implemented ; aptX connectivity.

Unresponsive touch controls ; No battery notification ; Noise cancellation could be better.

The Sennheiser PXC 550s manage to achieve that full-bodied Sennheiser sound we've come to expect, but some of their other features leave a little to be desired. The PXC 550's greatest strength is their sound. Other wireless noise-cancelling headphones...

Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless review: Say no to noise, say yes to music

Great sound quality goes hand in hand with portable design – the PXC 550 hold their own in 2018 despite the stiff competition

Compact, portable design ; Sharp and detailed sound quality

Midrange can be a touch harsh ; Touch control is finicky

They might not be the newest contender on the ANC block but the Sennheiser PXC 550 is still a very capable pair of ANC headphones. Music has a detailed, lively quality to it that couldn’t be more different to the laid back, smooth-sounding B&W PX and...
