Shure AONIC 215 Gen 2 review: Sometimes different is better

 

TWS headphones are everywhere, but the Shure AONIC 215 Gen 2 were made to be different, and sometimes, different can be better.

Robust charging case ; Nicely designed case and headphones ; Comfortable ; Good sound isolation ; Love the buttons on the adapters ; Decent sound quality and fairly neutral soundstage ; Decent app that has functionality ; Great battery life

Bulky, which some people may not like ; A bit pricey but in the same range as other similar TWS headphones ; The case is nice, but it is big and doesn't fit in a pocket easily

Ignore (if you can) the looks and the optimistic battery life, and instead just listen. The Shure AONIC 215 TW2 are deeply impressive in-ears

Sound utterly positive and convincing ; Impressive control app ; Earbuds themselves are very comfortable

‘True Wireless Secure Fit Adapter’ is far from the most decorative thing you’ll ever wear ; No active noise-cancellation ; Battery life is less than Shure reckons

Ignore (if you can) the ‘individual’ looks and the optimistic claims for battery life, and instead just listen. These are deeply impressive in-ear monitors
