Shure SE530 review: Shure SE530

Shure SE530

The Shure SE530 headphones offer exceptional clarity; deep, tight bass; rich, enveloping sound; and great noise isolation. They are also comfortable and include some useful extras such as an in-line volume control and an airplane adapter.

The Shure SE530s are expensive, and the earbuds are on the large side.

Travel-happy audiophiles will be infinitely pleased with the Shure SE530s, but these earbuds should also be a consideration for anyone who has half a grand to drop on some sweet headphones.

Shure SE530 Headphones Review - Intro

The SE530s are at the high end of Shure's in-ear options. Like other Shure in-ears, the SE530s come with a variety of extras, such as eight different sets of sleeves, an optional volume control, and an optional remote and mic. The S530s have a modular...

The SE530s are a good, if pricy, set of in-ears. They come with the most boxed-in extras we've seen to date, and have solid audio quality across the board. The headphones are also great for those whose headphones always seem to break. The headphones...

Shure's SE530 Sound Isolating Earphones With PTH Option.

The ear phones themselves have superb acoustics with quality construction for the most discerning audiophiles;, Excellent array of ear buds for many different tastes and comfort for any ear and fit;, Extremely comfortable; even for long periods of time...

Wicked expensive; depending on your taste for quality sound;, The PTH (Push-to-hear) option is not a push but rather a slider; i.e., instead of a true click push button;, Superfluous amount of cabling just to disable outside ambient noise;, The PTH...

There is a clip on the back of the main body of the accessory to attach to your belt, waistband, or other piece of clothing, but again, there is just too much cabling to justify the clip. Also, there is another clip that can be attached to your shirt...

Shure SE530

Shure's SE530 in-ear headphones are their high-end offering of the series. Like similar models in the line, the SE530s have a modular cord, meaning the cord truncates at the point where the left and right channels' cables meet. This design is to allow...

For the uninitiated, the Shure SE530s' follow their series' design, in which the cable actually comes out of the top of the ear buds. This means, to have the ear buds oriented properly, you have to wrap their cords up and around the back of your ears....

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

The SE530s are a good, if pricey, set of in-ears. They come with the most boxed-in extras we’ve seen to date, and have solid audio quality across the board. The headphones are also great for those whose headphones always seem to break.

Shure SE530 Review

A lot has been written about Shure's current flagship in-ear phone already, but of course that doesn't stop us from reviewing them. Maybe we just add a bit more to the confusion surrounding them, seeing how the SE530 are either loved or hated by...

The Shure SE530 are a slightly contradictory mix of features and qualities. Some of their strong points are usually found in dynamic driver earphones, not in balanced armature ones: good sound at low volume, good sound with dense orchestral works, good...

Shure E500PTH Noise Isolating Headphones

The Shure E500PTH headphones are, quite simply, staggering - but so is the price.

Shure SE530 review

Terrific noise-isolators with an extremely snug fit offer astonishing detail but ar eprone to a litle sibilance at the top end

Better value now ; exciting, detailed and attacking sound

A little sibilance at the top end

Ultra-snug fit and among the most effective noise-isolators we've tested, but not quite best in class

A classic tale of a brilliant product saddled with an ultra-hefty price tag.
