Skullcandy PLYR 1 Gaming Headset

The Skullcandy PLYR 1 gaming headset combines wireless performance, simulated surround sound, and flexible connectivity into a single attractive package.

Excellent sound quality. Strong bass. Optical audio passthrough. Charging base doubles as a stand for the headset when not in use.

Can't offer true surround sound. Headset can feel slightly cheap compared to more high-end gaming headsets.

The Skullcandy PLYR 1 headset is the significant performance and connectivity upgrade the PLYR 2 headset needed. It shares the same design, but it sounds better, supports optical audio passthrough, and even offers a passable faux-surround sound...

Skullcandy PLYR 1 Gaming Headset

The Skullcandy PLYR 1 gaming headset combines wireless performance, simulated surround sound, and flexible connectivity into a single attractive package.

I played a few rounds of Team Fortress 2 with the PLYR 1, and it performed admirably. While the surround sound effect wasn’t “genuine,” it provided the slightest illusion that the Heavy firing his mini-gun behind me was actually behind me, thanks to a...

Skullcandy PLYR 1 Wireless Gaming Headset Review

The first game I played with Skullcandy's PLYR 1 headset was The Last of Us.That's not a point in its favor, or a knock, for that matter. Rather, it's a funny coincidence. The Last of Us is the best PlayStation 3 game I've ever played. Skullcandy's...

Sound is stellar. WOW ; Ease-of-use and PC compatibility ; Stylish and comfortable

Weird volume dial design ; Tinny treble extremes ; Snug out of the box

If you don't already own the market-leading ASTRO A50s, Skullcandy's PLYR 1 Wireless Gaming Headset is the next best thing--terrific sound, ultra-convenient, and much cheaper to boot.

Perfect

I don't know how I see so many reviews of people with issues of it breaking. I bought mine 1-10-2014 and still use everyday. That is just over 2 years and still like new.

Everything. Sound is awesome, comfortable, battery lasts a very long time. They are not as good quality as the Astro A50 (I bought that one for my son) but at about 1/2 the price they much better bang for your buck.

Good sound, bad product quality

Really disappointed with these because I really liked them. Great sound and it's a bonus that they're wireless. However, they either need to lower their prices or do something about the quality because the price point for the quality just isn't there.

Average overall product, good sound, good mic quality. Comes with a nice holder to dock your headset on and put out of the way while not in use.

Plastic quality is cheap. There are three little screws that connect the plastic of the headset to the ear pieces and within the first 6 months of owning it the screws that hold the plastic together at the earpiece, snapped. I was able to put it back...

Still working after all these years

All in all a competent well made head set that isn't perfect, but it won't die on you and it has outlasted more and less expensive options for me.

It works, even after I dug it out of storage after 9 months because my Steelseries H wireless stopped working. The sound is good, but you need to hook up the optical cable, i think, to get directional sound.

The plastic can be brittle, but it can be superglued. mic has had some isues for me on some voip related programs, but not others.

Skullycandy PLYR

Broke too quick. Everyone I talked to before buying this product said skull candy had cheap construction and they proved it to me here. The technology here is great but the basics are bit off.

- Look Great. I had in the white color scheme and was really satisfied with how the set looked out of the box. - Boom mic is excellent. Best mic on a gaming headset I've had. Not only is quality good for a headset but the mic itself is both adjustable...

- Construction. The headset broke about 8 months after using them. They broke at the black plastic that connects the right ear piece to the top of the set. This happened while putting the headset on. I may have been eager to sit down for a nice gaming...

broke after a few months of everyday use

Had just purchased some SLYR1s for my PS4....think I'll send those back straight away.

Great sound Nice Mic quality

Plastic bracket holding left ear cup to headband broke. I had started using them everyday the last few months. I am 6 months out of the limited 1 year warranty so nothing to be done other than complain. Not the build quality i was expecting when i...

sadly trash

the wireless was nice, but the mic would quit working so quick and then shortly after the whole left side will stop working. serious QC issues.

was a decent headset when it worked.

very cheap build broke on me within 1 year and i went through hell with the RMA and when i did receive the replacement it broke within 6 months. very poor wiring. very thin wire that rips with normal use. also it needs an amp to get actual good sound...
