Noise-canceling headphones; rich sound; folds for compact storage; soft leatherette carry pouch.

Noise-canceling powers aren't up to snuff.

Sony's most affordable noise-canceling headphones' sweet sound may satisfy some buyers, but their noise-canceling prowess is suspect.

In the middle of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, a traveler who finds one of the others' tales to be unbearable and annoying simply screams at him to stop. Agent Maxwell Smart, on the other hand, had an advanced Cone of Silence. Unfortunately, for iPod...

Noise cancellation provides noticeable improvement ; high-quality audio with strong bass ; good battery life ; relatively inexpensive considering their capability level ; includes carrying case

In some situations, they tend to "over-cancel" audio, which a negative effect on quality (unless noise cancellation is disabled)

On the right-hand side of the headphones, a small cylinder snaps in a single AAA battery, which is required to power the active noise cancellation feature. An switch on the right earpiece turns noise cancellation on or off. Sony rates the battery life...

The affordable MDR-NC6 headphones sound decent, but their noise-canceling feature isn't all that effective.

Not so great

They broke today after more than a year, but at no fault of its own. My kitten chewed through the wire. I won't be getting them again, I'm looking for something different.

They sound relatively good, and they aren't uncomfortable

Noise canceling is weak, adds a hiss sound

Pretty much complete junk..

I bought these, and they were great.. for a while. The noise canceling started to make noises randomly, which was really quite annoying. I finally had to shut it off. These dropped off of my desk, and literally broke in half. I put it back together,...

Noise canceling, cheap

Break easily, short cord, "noise canceling" makes wining noise sometimes

Good, Inexpensive Starter NC Headphones

I bought these to try to make airline travel more comfortable. I used them on a recent trip, which had two flights each way of 1.5 and 3.5 hours. They worked well given their design, drastically reducing but not eliminating the engine and airflow...

Decent noise cancelling. Battery in headset. Comfortable; nicely padded foam and adjustable height. Includes airline adapter and carrying bag ; Lots of bang for the buck

No in-line volume control. Don't fold up as compact as I'd like
