Review: Sony MDR-NC60 Headphones

My experiences with headphones, especially on long or even short flights around the country, have never been very facilitating. Many times, I'd hear the person sitting next to me talking to a friend across the aisle or the flight attendant asking those...

Without a doubt, these noise canceling headphones will be an experience you'll never forget, even if you do find yourself on a long flight stuck between a rock and a hard place

Poor Sony Support

Spend your money on a non-Sony product and forego the grief from Sony.

Ok

Started to cut out after several months, both Sony and Newegg extended warranty refused to cover repairs

Great Headphones

I think people are confused about the function of "Noise Cancellation". These aren't earplugs, so they're not going to act like them. They only work with consistent, low frequency noise, like an air handler or road/rail/plane noise. For that, they work...

Great headphones

Great headphones. The noise cancelling is excellent. I'm a software developer in an environment that can get fairly noisy. These headphones have effectively filtered out the surrounding noise such that my productivity has increased nearly two-fold.

Eh...

Maybe my standards are too high, I needed something that had great noise-canceling abilities (preferably both PNC and ANC). I also needed some with crisp clear audio and the ability to detect footsteps in first person shooters. I realize thats a broad...

Umm...Clear Audio

So I purchased these from Best Buy since I could return them if they did not meet my standards. To be honest they are pretty horrible at what they are supposed to do. Like was noted below it can cancel out some wind noise and some ambient room noise...

Great price and performance

Purchased for an international trip and they worked great. They had fabulous sound and really got used to them and how much noise they removed from the constant drone of the engines. I wore them for about 20 hours each way and they were comfortable the...

SONY MDR-NC60 Circumaural Noise Cancelling Headphones

If you want completely silence, I think regular earplug is better.

I have purchased this last week(June/30/2010), and received today(July/8/2010). I used for an hour or so, and I found it only canceled low frequency sound. For example, wind sound, some engine sound

It does not cancel regular conversation people having near you or keyboard typing sound

Price and Neweggs fast shipping

I did not have a issues with the battery draining fast.

The noise canceling blocks out approx. 80 to 90 percent of the engine noise, I could hear people talking and we had a crying baby both times over the Atlantic, but the noise was reduced considerably. The sound is very good I did not have crank the...

They are a little heavy and the foam ear pads seem like they collapse so the longer I wore them my ears would touch the inside of the headphone. After about 5 hours of wearing them I would have to take them and rub my ears

A good buy for the money

I have used these for several 15 hour nonstop flights and found them to be comfortable for the entire flight. I don't know how I endured without them before, and won't take any trip over an hour without them!

Lightweight and comfortable. They do a great job reducing the drone of jet and turboprop engines on long flights. Battery life is longer than I expected but I lost count of how many hours I've used them. Comes with everything you need to connect to...
