Sony XBA-1iP review

Sony touts its XBA Series as the first to use its "microsized balanced armature drivers." The $80 XBA-1 and $100 XBA-1iP in-ear headphones are the least expensive models to feature these drivers, and they sound exceptionally pure and precise. The...

The XBA-1iP is Sony's most affordable set of XBA in-ear headphones that feature an inline microphone and volume controls with a high-resolution balanced armature driver that blocks ambient noise.

Bass depth may not have enough oomph to please buyers that live on a steady diet of rock, dance, or hip-hop.

Sony's XBA-1iP entry-level headphone has a clear, transparent sound that's well-suited for buyers craving high-resolution fidelity for $100.

Sony XBA-1iP In-Ear Headphones Review

At $100 MSRP (likely less in the store), the Sony XBA-1iP In-Ear Headphones are almost an impulse buy. At this price, they are a very nice second pair at a reasonable price. Recommended!

Sony XBA-1iP headphones

The kind of headphones that come boxed up with iPods and other devices are, in general, awful. They don't do their respective devices justice, leak audio, but more importantly they don't do your listening experience - or your eardrums - justice either....

Good sound isolation, various earbuds for more tailored fit

Proper seal can easily be lost when on the move, expensive, mid-heavy sound that can be tinny/crunchy, lack of low-end bass even when good seal is achieved

The XBA-1iP balanced armature headphones may look the part and talk the talk on the packaging, but when it comes to the overall listening experience they’re quite average.

Really not that great

Well I wished I listened to other people's reviews. It's true, these ear phones lack all bass. The highs are fine, but even the mids are suffering at times. It's not a question that these earphones are simply cutting out the over enhancement of bass...

disappointing

I can't hear anything properly because there is no insulation on the cables. When I walk to work and the cables rub against my jacket, there is so much interference traveling up the cables and covering the music. Not what I'd expect of $90 headphones!

poor in bass

I got these on Amazon (refurbish ones). The insolation is absolutely undoubtable! I can't even drive and listen to music because of that, or I might crash my car... The mic is good as well, no problem talking to other on the phone! Mid and high pitch...

I just recently got an iphone and wanted better headphones with a mic. I heard about these and tried them out and I like them. The ear buds are nice and solid in my ears, and don't irritate them. Plus the sound quality is excellent and really sounds...
