The Best $200 In-Ear Headphones

We researched every new pair of in-ear headphones since our last update in 2013 and had four audio pros pit 15 new competitors against our previous pick to find the best $200 in-ear headphones. The $90-$150 Sony XBA-H1 sounded better than any other we...

You just can’t get a better sound for the money than the Sony XBA-H1s. They’re comfortable, they’re affordable, and we are so glad we didn’t dismiss them. We know that if you give them a listen, you’ll be very happy you gave them a chance, too.

Sony XBA-H1 review

In-ear headphones with style and bravado

Edgy design ; Flat cables ; Powerful sound performance

Premium price ; No inline controls

If you seek strong performance and slick design in a set of in-ear headphones, the Sony XBA-H1 will satisfy on multiple fronts. That is, if you can look past the price and lack of inline controls considering.

Sony XBA-H1

At this price, good design and high build quality aren't enough

Good-looking, robust design ; Good dynamic range

Ill-defined sound ; Lots of competition at this price

At this price, good design and high build quality aren’t enough. When it comes to sound quality, there are plenty of more refined rivals under the £100 mark.

Good sound, average buds, no noise isolation

Consider using buds from Hearing Components. T-200 fits these headphones.

Great sound quality, very enjoyable

Included buds are average and provide little to no noise isolation (including those that have the foam)

I have had Sony headphones for many years. Due to the high MSRP of these ($150) and my past experience with Sony, I expected a lot out of these. I was very disappointed. They had no bass and had issues with sibilance. While they were comfortable to...
