Sound ID SM100 Bluetooth headset review: Sound ID SM100 Bluetooth headset

We were very pleased with the SoundID Personal Sound System SoundFlavors Bluetooth headset from a year ago, but we felt the price was a little too prohibitive for most people. The SoundID SM100, however, is much more consumer-friendly at a more...

The SoundID SM100 Bluetooth headset has a comfortable fit and excellent performance; with wind noise reduction and voice capture technologies that enhance audio clarity. It adjusts to different noise levels, plus there's an environment-awareness mode...

The SoundID SM100 Bluetooth headset's environment-awareness mode results in a noticeable background buzz that can be quite distracting.

The SoundID SM100 Bluetooth headset is excellent with above-average performance.

Lightning Round: Sound ID SM100 Bluetooth Headset

Welcome to our first Lightning Round Review ever! Here we take the Sound ID SM100 out for a test run and report the results. It's like a regular review, but more lightning-y.

(the best headset so far) for outgoing calls. Actually better for incoming call quality (the stuff you hear the other person say). But the extras may make up for it if you actually have a need

Second bad one

DITTO ON THE PREVIOUS REVIEWER. COME 0N CNET - AN 8.3!!!??? WHAT A BAD JOKE!

Small, GREAT ear fit. I really wish others with better electronics had this fit!!

This is the second one of these that has started out OK and then the sound quality goes to horrible in no time, despite limited use and the utmost care. The enviro mode is useless and annoying to toggle past. And now I'm stuck with this useless trinket.

Horrible

The phone I was using is the T-Mobile Shadow. I had no problems with my previous bluetooth headset from Sony Ericson. I can't believe CNET gave this piece of garbage a 8.3 rating. Thier credibility just went down the drain for me. I've already returned...

Pretty Packaging. Environmental mode is an excellent idea

However, Environmental mode is flawed because it doesn't even come close to reproducing sound in regards to space. This means that you cannot tell if the sound you hear is coming from in front of you, behind you, left, right, up or down. The call...

Maybe bad luck? Headset sucks

My Motorola sounds better...

Small. Light. Stays in your ear surprisingly well

Terrible static noise in the background of any phone call. Basically sounds like an old 90s phone modem connecting to the internet in my ear ; People on the other end report bad static that comes in and out. Also you sound like you are underwater ; It...

SOUND ID SM100 Bluetooth Headset

I love it is better than my other one the jawbone for the volume and the ear thing .

The volume is great and has three settings loud but not to loud . It stays in the ear even when you are runing and jumping

The volume just could be a little bit louder for music . the ear peace is made of plastic not medal

SOUND ID SM100 Bluetooth Headset

Small, unobtrusive, good fit in the ear. Easy to pair

Unfortunately, paired w/ a razor v3m this headset has a continual faint, high pitched static whine during all connected calls. The longer the call, the more pronounced this becomes

SM100 is comfortable, lightweight and sounds great."

I like this earpiece. Good clarity, very comfortable, everybody I talk to never knows I am using it. Very easy to position comfortably in my ear. Very clever design not to need the over the ear support to keep it firmly in place. I can put it in my ear...

People I talk to do not know I am using bluetooth

Enviromental mode is a feature that could be skipped
