Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170 review: Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170

Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170

The reasonably priced Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170 earphones offer good sound quality and include a protective carrying case. One version includes an inline mic and call answer button for use with music phones.

The MetroFi 170 earphones won't be comfortable for all users; the earpieces have a bit of a cheap, plastic feel; and the cable is thin and tangle-prone.

The Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170 earphones are a solid step up from stock earbuds, offering improved sound quality and helpful features for not a lot of money. Be wary of fit and durability issues, though.

Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170

When Logitech bought the venerable headphone manufacturer, Ultimate Ears, we wondered whether UE's top-shelf audio engineering team would stay in place. Logitech has assured us that the same team is behind the MetroFi 170 ($49.99 list), which is the...

Remarkable sound quality for the price. Strong bass response. Secure fit

Can sound somewhat harsh in mid-to-high frequencies. Some cable thump; not the best choice for exercising

Ultimate Ears' latest pair of earphones serves up solid sonic prowess, powerful bass response, and a secure fitall for less than $50.

Diabolical

I bought these thinking I was getting a pretty good deal, but not so. The sound quality is absolutely appalling; quite possibly the worst I've ever heard. The solution this is to hold in the "multi-function button" (supposed to be used for answering...

Almost Fantastic

First of all, amazing sound quality for the price. Get the earbud size right, push them in deep, and the sound quality is superb. I've owned various Sony's, CX300's, and these give the best bass response out of all of them. However, having tried all...

Superb

Just received these today as a cheap replacement to my previous creative audio ones. Really impressed, sound is very full and definately have plenty of bass unlike a lot more expensive sennheiser ones i have tried which are very tinny. Quality seems...

Best i've got

I have tried many headphones which either stopped working or fell apart. At first i was looking for a brand name and read alot on many headphones including what customers had to say.

Waste!!!

Utterly disappointed. The sound is rudely high on treble with poor bass. the headphone is strong as long-lasting but that;s no use if it can't deliver its main purpose. The ear buds just don't fit and keep falling off.....argh!
