Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro review

Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro For the last decade, Ultimate Ears has been manufacturing professional-grade in-ear stage monitors for musicians, but the company only recently began offering high-end earbuds for the consumer market. Ultimate Ears'...

Noise-isolating earbuds; studio monitorlike clarity and detail; includes multiple ear tips, hard case, soft case, cleaning tool, 1/8-inch-to-1/4-inch plug adapter, and volume attenuator adapter.

Potential durability issues; expensive.

The Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro in-ear headphones sound great and fit securely, but the cord's otherwise well-conceived ear loops are too fragile.

Excellent bass and crisp highs. Cheaper than the competition. User-replaceable cables. Fit our ears securely and comfortably.

Bass can be overpowering on very subtle music. They stick out pretty far from your ears.

These aren't cheap, but they sound very goodespecially the bassand we found them quite comfortable. A worthy competitor to the Shure E4c.

Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5Pro and Shure E4c canalphones

Canalphones are a kind of headphone. A weird kind of headphone. A kind of headphone which many people don't like

Taking all this into account, the Shures get a Recommended from me, and the Ultimate Ears are Highly Recommended

Ultimate Ears Super fi 5Pro EB

If you have teenagers or if you are a teenager ? you know they like their music loud and their bass ?heavy.? The UE Super.fi. 5 series is simply the best at being loud, bass ?heavy? and provides amazing quality for all types of music.

The Super.fi 5 Pros are in-the-ear headphones ? similar to many in-ear type earphones

Consumer review (cnet.com)

Sure they sound great, but they aren't reliable!

Even though the sound they produce is excellent and they can block out most of the outside noise, I wouldn't recommend this product line because they aren't reliable enough to justify the cost for a high end in-ear monitor. First the cord starts to...

Excellent sound reproduction and noise cancellation effect.

The only last for about a year and then they start to fail. The copper cord oxidizes and hardens. I've gone through four cords and have had four failures inside the ear bud. They don't properly stay snugly in my ears for any length of time.
