LG BX580: Stunning Images from Blu-ray Discs and DVDs

The LG BX580 does an excellent job turning the bits on a DVD or Blu-ray disc into stunning images. Its Internet content and multimedia capabilities are among the best. And for a 3D Blu-ray player, the $200 estimated street price (as of November 22,...

Produces superior image quality ; Capable of playing 3D Blu-ray ; Can convert all audio to DTS ; Strong multimedia and Internet offerings

Only one HDMI port (a problem only for 3D players) ; Annoying 3D sticker difficult to remove

The LG BX580 offers exceptional image quality, full multimedia capabilities, and very good Internet content.

LG BX580 3D Network Blu-ray Disc PlayerReview

LG has thrown everything but the kitchen sink into their latest networked Blu-ray 3D Disc player. The 3D glasses may be optional but a truckload of online entertainment comes standard.

The Gladiator DVD presented its soundtrack menu in 15 seconds flat. Impressive! More impressive was the the fact that Underworld 2 displayed the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment logo in the same 15 seconds. Whoa. Pirates' gold coin stopped spinning and...

LG BX580 3D Blu-ray Player - Tried, Tested and Enjoyed

It's fair to say the LG BX580 3D Blu-Ray Player has served me well, so I thought it was about time I gave it a little extra attention.

This is a good player with some neat features, and is priced quite competitively at Rs. 16,990. However, it also has its fair share of shortcomings. I really like some of the features such as the MKV playback and hard drive support, as well as the ease...

LG BX580 Blu-Ray Player

Play back 3D Blu-ray movies with the LG BX580. It features 1080p high definition upscaling for DVD, and includes built-in Wi-Fi with BD-Live letting you download bonus movie content including deleted scenes, games and even more updates straight to it....

The LG BX580 isn’t an exceptional Blu-ray player, but it does its job ably and offers a tempting range of extras. LG BX580 Blu-Ray Player is tagged with LG BX580, blu ray, Blu-Ray player, LG and 3D. Select a tag (LG BX580, for example) to find...

easy to use

Hope they figure out the software problem. it's a bit slow at times but all in all I am very satisfied with this player.

Plays Divix and Divix HD perfectly, also not one problem with online apps. very easy to set up and menus are very easy to use. Divix listing is very clear and easy to read. use pandora on it almost every day and have not had a problem yet

took off one egg because I couldn't get it to update the software over WIFI. During some BR disk it will pause for about 15 sec. only started doing this after I let it update it's self, but had to do update, because one of my BR wouldn't play untill I did

Very Nice BP

You can't beat that for what this player can do. It's an very amazing deal. You find it for that price, you buy it. The free shipping is just a bonuses for such a great player.

First of all this is a very nice looking player. Set up was a breese I have used both WIFI and hard wired with cat five cable. The wifi worked fine for streaming netflix and other media. Another thing that impressed me was the DLNA. The UI was clean...

None yet, the updates are a bit slow but for the price and what you are getting. Just a itch and back side of a elephant

Awesome!

I don't normally take the time to write a review buy I am so impressed with this unit I had to post my input. I am an audiophile and musician, I own Parasound, Vandersteen etc. so I KNOW QUALITY!! and this is a quality unit second to none to my Denon...

Great BD player, upscales older DVD'S to near HD quality, Streams Netflix flawlessly without a hiccup, Pandora sounds great

Slow updates

Great so far

Its mind boggling that this player gives so many options to play your media. Newegg ships this product in its original box which makes it vulnerable if it is lying at your doorstep when delivered.

In built WIFI is fast, DLNA works great, easy user interface

Firmware updates are slow and I had not got a single successful update installed yet. I am going to give up on that

Outstanding Blu-ray player!

Got it for $169 w/ FS. You can't beat that for what this player can do. It's an amazing deal. You find it for that price, you buy it. No questions.

I don't get excited about electronics, stuff either works or it doesn't. Well, this player works, and it works so well that I'm excited. It's just an amazing piece of hardware ; 1. Plays everything I throw at it; all discs, files from network drives,...

1. Updates are a b*tch. Going to the newest firmware took over an hour. If you want to do it, just set it to start and go to bed ; That's about it

DOA update - all is well

My replacement unit arrived in a timely fashion once the defective unit was received by newegg. For those of you looking for a 3D capable Blu-ray player that can play all your compressed videos, short of connecting a laptop directly to HD-capable...

This is an update to my original DOA review ; 1) Works ; 2) Plays AVCHD compressed 1080p blu-ray movies just fine ; 3) Able to connect to my WPA2/PSK protected network without a hitch ; 4) Was able to download and update to latest firmware successfully...

Not really a con but I would've been useful to be able to connect a USB keyboard for all the bizarre characters needed for my network password ; Search functionality could be better (this is admittedly being very picky)
