Onkyo service is not good

Cheap

HDMI blew out in less then a year. I've had it in service for over a month now, and still don't have an eta on when I will receive it back. I understand parts break, but the service is lacking

Bad Cables - component video does not work

very few blu-ray movies support 7.1 channel sound... Why not spend this money on a 5.1 setup that is fully supported and is built with higher quality components?

out of the box this thing looks and sounds awesome. However, the cables are cheap and the reciever is somewhat difficult to program correctly

I upgraded all the wires except the subwoofer cable right out of the box...turns out the cable is very "cheap". Somehow the tip of the male end of the cable broke off inside the female end of the speaker input. There is no way to get it out and now I...

Newegg is nut

Seriously ordered this and a refurb blu-ray player, the BD player was _the next day_ and this in two days, sweet!

3-day shipping came in like 1.5 days, newegg rules on that note. Got open box unit for discount, looked like new and it sounds awesome! (according to friend i got it for)

I love my surround sound.

I am still using the stock speaker wire that came with the system. While upgrading the speaker wire would be nice, it's not mandatory. I've had my system for 3 months now. I have the receiver set up in an open area and I do not feel that heat from the...

Sounds great, thunderous bass ; Setup was pretty easy ; I love the 4 HDMI ports ; Games and Movies have never sounded better in my house ; We have our Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii all hooked up to it. Also our Comcast cable goes thru it and occasionally we...

Hard finding speaker mounts for ; The subwoofer is not protected on the underside. While I don't move it often, that is poor design on Onkyo's part. I fabricated some wire mesh and attached it to the bottom of my subwoofer ; The unit has a brief click...

dont buy

sounds good and has lots of connections

went out within 4 months and having it repaired by "onkyo certified repair centers is a nightmare" not to mention you have to pay about 80 bucks to have it shipped for repair

W O W

Got this on sale $499 and free shipping, if you see this for that price and are thinking about getting one dont let this pass and get a cheaper model. This is alot for a little buck but it's always better to have MORE than not enough. I can't wait for...

Such quick delivery (2 days) I haven't even told the wife! Sounds wonderful, great bass, easy set up but does take some knowledge along with time to unwind and put where it sounds best

Speakers are on the bulky side, speaker cable could have been a gauge or two higher for better sound

OVERALL OK

If you want a good over package this a great deal. The first thing I would replace would be a subwoofer that can really hit all the lows that this subwoofer can't. You'll know what i'm saying when your watching your blu ray movie and you hear the...

This system is a GOOD deal NOT GREAT for the price

Blew the subwoofer in 2 weeks. Newegg was very good with this because it was within 30 days of the purchase and they paid the shipping to get repaired which would have cost $30. However, after 30 days your paying the shipping cost on everything....

Awesome

I chose this over the 5300 for the upscaling to HDMI. I'm currently using HDMI-DVI because I have an older TV with no HDMI. I'd say this is an awesome entry level unit for someone like me who doesn't have the picky ear to know any better. It sounds...

Pretty easy to setup. 4 HDMI in is awesome to have. On-screen menus. Bass is ridiculously loud. So far very easy to use and work with

As others started, needs new speaker wire. HDMI-DVI is finicky. If an HDMI cable is unplugged, the unit must be reset (power pulled) to fix. However, it does fix it

Overpriced, lackluster performance

I've been in the sound industry for years and the horrible noise from the speakers is just inexcusable. Yes, you do get thunderous bass and crystal-clear highs, but you have NOTHING in between. The main problem is that there is a gigantic subwoofer and...

The receiver is top-notch, one of the better ones I've set up. Great sound programming, easy set-up, and good features

DO NOT BUY FOR THE SPEAKERS. They are poorly matched and have no balance whatsoever. Subwoofer is way overpowered and the satellites have no mid or low range at all

Good Sound and Picture

Having good quality fans built into the unit for air circulation would have been a plus but other than that I'm completely satisfied.

After shopping around I figured the HT-S6300 offered the most features and best reviews for its price so I purchased it and I have to say I'm quite satisfied. The sound is much better than my older 5.1 unit (different brand), I was surprised to hear...

It does get pretty hot. I have my blue-ray player raised about three inches above the heat between the two was extremely hot to the touch. I placed a 120mm fan with a power switch on top of the HT-S6300 blowing down and I just keep that running while I...
