Panasonic SC-HTB20 Home Theater Soundbar Reviewed

Panasonic's HTB20 soundbar system with its affordable price point may lead you to believe its performance is suspect. However, Andrew Robinson's time with the soundbar revealed it to be anything but.

Inexperienced users may not fiddle with the subwoofer's level long enough to get the most out of its performance and could therefore write off the HTB20's sound as bass-heavy or boomy ; One more HDMI input would make the HTB20 a no-brainer, all-in-one...

I must admit, I didn't have high hopes for Panasonic's new roughly $200 HTB20 soundbar system. That was my mistake. For what it is, the HTB20 is quite good. As a $200 upgrade to any HDTV purchase, the HTB20 doesn't disappoint and is worth every penny....

A poor implementation of a neat concept, with poor sound to boot. Disappointing

Transformer, soundbar in disguise

Poor sound ; Poor user interface ; Wired subwoofer

Despite the novel shape-shifting design, we’re not convinced the Panasonic SC-HTB20 does much to enhance your viewing – which is surely the whole point of considering a soundbar in the first place.

Same system was $189.99 locally. TigerDirect beat that price easily combined with free shipping and no tax. Simple to hook up and sounds great. I like that you can control voice and the bass on the sub separately via the remote. I ran an HDMI cable...
