Samsung HT-X30 - 5.1 DVD System

A full 5.1-channel DVD system for well under £200 sounds good, so let's hope it is...

Samsung HT-X30 review

This Samsung offers a discreet presence, but does it have the scale and punch for real home cinema?

Great build and design ; decent performance ; wireless upgrade options

Lacks the power, scale and punch of the best in class

A worthwhile small-room system, but you get more living room oomph from some rivals

Samsung HT-X30 review

Samsung's cute, compact HT-X30 is one of the best-value home cinema in a box systems around. Just don't expect sonic fireworks…

We’ve heard bigger-sounding systems, but for its price this Samsung supplies excellent picture quality

Hardware review: Scan 3XS GW-HTX30

This is the fastest dual Xeon E5 workstation we've ever seen, but also one of the more expensive ones, says James Morris

CONS

Fastest rendering performance we’ve seen

The Scan 3XS GW-HTX30 is pretty much top of the heap in every respect, with the fastest rendering and some of the fastest modelling performances we’ve ever seen. The price is also suitably heap-topping, but not by an amount we’d consider unwarranted....

Samsung HT X30R

This machine has optical input and front mounted USB port. Along with HDMI upscaling this make it one of the best featured Home Cinema sytems available. This is the second one I haved purchased (first one alive and well and still perfect)

Must be low on stock now as it's an old model. I was lucky to find this supply!

Samsung HT X30R

Everything is great except for quality of sound - very tinny sounding.

Disappointed with sound - very much a budget sound system. Would recommend for a first time buy of surround sound with intentions to upgrade in a few years.

Samsung HT X30R

It is compatible with my V+ box, Playstation 3 and with my TV. It also has Anynet feature which is also featured on my Samsung TV which means i only need one remote to operate both items.

It only has one optical input which means i have to swap cables from PS3 to V+ Box and if i plug it into the back of the TV and watch the V+ Box after a while it runs out of sync.
