Great System!

Add my name to the list of satisfied customers for this system. Easy to set up, thunderous bass (had to turn it down a bit) and overall great sound. Build quality looks good and Yamaha has a good rep. Only minor rash was with the small gauge speaker...

Buy this... NOW!

Great sound, easy to setup, makes my racing games, and any sports come to life! A great addition to the HDTV that I bought from this site! Thank you, Yamaha, this thing is great.

Good but not Mind Blowing

In general, the system is adequate. Most of the systems that I've worked with I can set up without looking at any instructions. This one you will need to learn. I had a Onkyo HT S3400 which sounded great and was easy to use but it died at 2 weeks so I...

3D Passive, 4 HDMI inputs, 1 HDMI output and 1 optical input

Not the easiest system to navigate through for set up. Set up menus are on the front of the unit which are difficult to see if you have a large room. As other customers have stated - the speaker wire is thin and would come loose from connectors. The...

Great Start-up stereo

I have this stereo in a 20' x 13' room, and it fills the room nicely with excellent sound. The Subwoofer appears to be oversized for the wattage that is output to the speakers, but the subwoofer has its own volume control, so it is easy to turn it...

Amazing sound

Multiple inputs/outs, low power consumption, super fast switching between inputs, crystal clear audio/video

only two screw plugs with banana clip. makes a loud click when the relay changed sound mode

Yamaha is best bang for your buck

There seems to be many reviewers that complain about the bass being too hard or not having control over bass, treble, or an EQ. This is simply not the case. These reviewers need to learn how to properly setup the system or pay somebody like me to come...

Awesome sounding surround system that gives you complete control over the frequencies and levels of every channel. Plenty of HDMI inputs and you can buy the dock for your iPhone too. Speakers sound great for their size and plenty of bass for those that...

No cons for this unit. I have one in the bedroom and another in my smaller TV room

Good product

I upgraded my speaker wire and the sound was a lot better. I went with a 14 gauge which was pretty think for the small inputs on the back for the center and surrounds but when I get bigger speakers I will be set. I have my music playing through a...

The system doesn't take long to set up, and is pretty easy. The hardest part is discovering where the speakers are going to sound the best. Setting the settings on the unit are very simple if you read through the manual, wouldn't be hard if your didn't...

Speaker wire is junk, it kept falling out of my speakers while i was trying to mount them ; System lacks mid-range sound. The front, center, and surround speakers only go down to 90Hz i believe and the sub has to take care of the rest, can be fixed by...

Nice

I wish it came with some more wire/cables. A ToS-Link cable would of saved me some trouble. It only comes with what I am "guessing" is about 100 feet of speaker wire (un-cut) so you cut them down to size... NO wires come with it/No RCA/No Coax/No...

I like the receiver, good amount of inputs, nice remote ; The speakers sound OK, not AMAZING but they are better than most, they sound clear but on rock music they can sound little grainy when the volume is pumped up high enough... not enough to annoy...

The subwoofer, is well.... excessive I guess could be the right word, it seems more suited for ... action movies? its SLIGHTLY too much base for music... BUT what is nice about it is that it has POWER, you get a good FEEL from the base, but it really...

Nice for the Price

As I read from other reviews, I could not beleive Yamaha would provide such cr@ppy speaker wire with the unit. Knowing this ahead, I replaced the wire with 14 gauge MonsterXP wire which gave the unit a richer sound than had I stuck with what came with...

For the price, this is a nice system, I was able to connect my DVR, Media Center, and game console to the stereo and HDMI them all to the TV. The sound was awesome with some tweaks

I would not have bought this had I know that it didnt have its own seperate Trebile and Bass adjusters. It offers only the room types for EQ
