Philips Azur GC4870/02

The Philips Azur GC4870/02 iron features a raft of technically advanced features including Ionic Deepsteam functionality and a SteamGlide PLUS soleplate.

Irons very well ; Amazing steam function ; Easy to manoeuvre ; Easy to use

Heavy

A slight area for concern for those looking at the Philips Azur GC4870/02 is that it’s quite heavy, so if you’re a delicate little thing you might not be able to work it so well. It is easy to manoeuvre, though, so unless you’re really weak it should...

Disappointing

  (Rating Hidden)

The box says 'lightweight' but this iron is definitely the heaviest I've ever used, so am not sure what criteria Philips applied when deciding that the description was justified. Also, it irons ok but does not smooth away those stubborn creases in...

Not heating up

  (Rating Hidden)

Hi CMR101639571,It sounds as though you have a faulty model. I would recommend returning it to the retailer you bought it from and explaining the problem. The retailer should offer to either repair or replace your iron and might even offer a refund....

Love it

Had it two years and still going strong, irons well and quickly, i keep a whole jug of water next to me for the constant refills and now it's an older model you can get for a good price if you shop around.

One to avoid.

Bought this iron three months ago and it has already stopped working. The heating light comes on but it does not heat up, there is no power problem. When it was working it was very good but if it only works for three months this is not an iron I will...

Phillips Azur 4870

  (Rating Hidden)

I bought this iron to replace my previous damaged Phillips iron, (which was also good). The Azur 4870 is a good iron. It produces good steam and is efficient in ironing out creases. The only two problems I find are that it is very heavy, particularly...

A silly design fault

  (Rating Hidden)

I have only one fault to register regarding this iron. The ionising steam button is on the handle and sometimes when I pick it up I activate it unintentionally. Also the symbol on the button (ionising steam) has worn away in a short length of time....

An excellent iron

  (Rating Hidden)

We purchased this iron to replace a previous Phillips iron, which lasted around ten years(which is excellent as we have young children and get through a lot of clothes)! This iron, although somewhat heavy, is excellent and efficient, smoothing out...

Fantastic Iron

  (Rating Hidden)

Agree with previous reviewer. Gives great results. My wife is an ironing expert (ran a dry cleaning business in her previous life) so if she rates it , it must be good. Also has a safety cut out feature. Miles (or kms????) better than the Bosch which...

The best iron I have ever had

  (Rating Hidden)

Fantastic steam production and the ability to get the iron really hot means that it can smooth out stubborn creases. Weight is not necessarily a disadvantage but if you find it tiring, try lowering your ironing board a little.
