A very shonky iron. Best avoided.

This is a very poor iron. It has been "eating up" my clothes as things stick to its sole very quickly. Taking things off is a total pain. I've spent $20 in eucalyptus oil, removing the stuff stuck to its sole. Steam function is very poor. Leaks water....

Started off well. Was happy for about a couple of weeks.

All sorts of problems emerged very soon.

Makes ironing easy!

I previously had a sunbeam iron which i paid the same amount of money for and after 12 months had to return it as it was constantly leaking water. The phillips is a much more powerful iron, and it's shot of steam is simply remarkable! I am a person who...

Reliable, cuts through creases no problems, reduced ironing time.

Can leak occasionally, but i find the chance of this happening is reduced by allowing it to completely heat up prior to using it. Initially a little heavier to use, but easy to adjust to after a few uses.

Less than a year old and have to buy another new iron

This iron has lasted less than a year. It leaks hot water which makes it way down through my ironing board to my legs. It had stuck on something that I was ironing and now as a result, it leaks out a coloured fluid. Very helpful when you are ironing...

Good steam

Quite heavy when full, leaks everytime I do a large batch or ironing, now leaks a coloured fluid

Excellent

This is the absolute best iron I have ever owned and I have owned about twelve. In addition, I have used many others that belonged to my employers when I was a domestic housekeeper. This is also the most expensive iron I have ever purchased. I found it...

The sleek sliding action is attributed solely (please excuse the pun) to this newfangled soleplate. It's marketed as some new technology thing but all I care about is that the fabric friction is markedly reduced compared to my old stainless steel...

True, it is a little heavy and my wrist aches a bit after a solid hour of ironing but, to be fair, I had a wrist operation last year. The results sort of counter balance this to some extent and I am prepared to put up with having a nice lie down...

Excellent

I picked up this iron this afternoon from Bing Lee price haggled to $120 with 2 years warranty (not extended). I highly recommend this iron.

Powerful iron, removes tough creases without over use of steam boost. Easy to fill with water. Love the power steam boost and the large water reservoir

Slightly on the heavy side but this is off-set by its performance. The Steam boost button is in an awkward spot but you can get used to it.

Consumer review (productreview.com.au)

Excellent

Better than the iron it replaced. Long cord, great steam. Only downside is as it produces so much steam, you have to fill it up more often. I believe the RRP for this iron was about $179 in Harvey Norman, however, haggle, I do, and I got it for $138...

Steam that comes out of the iron. Front fill door.

Nothing really....

Great Price and performance.

Newer more expensive model is better - but aren't they always.

PHILIPS GC4620/02 IRON

Very good steaming process

Would perfer a 'cordless' iron - cord keeps tangling and getting in the way of ironing
