HP Omen Sequencer Review

Opto-mechanical keys. ; Dedicated macro keys. ; USB pass-through. ; Fancy red volume roller.

Expensive. ; Limited customization options and invasive permissions in Omen Command Center app. ; No onboard profile storage.

If you can look past its tetchy software and are willing to pay the steep price, HP's Omen Sequencer is a homage to gaming-keyboard excess—in a good way.

HP Omen Sequencer Review: A Striking (But Overpriced) Gaming Keyboard

I wanted to like the Omen Sequencer more than I ultimately did. It's got comfortable keys and good performance, which count for a whole lot in a gaming keyboard. But it's also bizarrely designed, lacking in features and far too expensive for what it does.

Comfortable, responsive keys ; Cool volume dial ; Good typing and gaming performance

Too expensive ; Polarizing design ; Simplistic software

The HP Omen Sequencer's optical-mechanical switches are cool, but the peripheral is not inventive enough to justify its high price.
