Review: i-Rocks i-mini X-Slim keyboard

i-Rocks' KR-6170M i-mini X-Slim offers surprisingly good typing feel for such an inexpensive keyboard, but you do get what you pay for: it offers none of the special features and extra keys that are common these days, and it has some key-layout...

Inexpensive ; thin ; laptop-style keys with decent key feel ; true Mac power button

No USB ports ; odd forward-slash key placement ; no volume or eject keys ; too-bright power light

At 18.1 inches wide, 6.2 inches deep, and 0.8 inches thick, the X-Slim is a fairly standard-size keyboard, although one that’s relatively thin thanks to the use of laptop-style keys (more on that below). The keyboard is available in glossy white or...

Awesome.....for 2 weeks

Was in love with this keyboard for the first month. Now I feel cheated out of 30 bucks.

Gorgeous stylings. Sleek and appealing design. The keys are fun to hit with your fingers. Typing is put "at ease

The space bar broke. My girlfriend uses the keyboard for simple emailing, etc. So it's not an over-used keyboard. But yeah, the space bar broke after a month of use. So I had to plug back in our ugly black dell keyboard. Don't waste your money ; The...

Great

I highly recommend this keyboard!

Solid & sturdy. Types like a dream. Love it

The lights on the top (caps lock, etc) are really bright but only if you look at it straight down. It's fine if you're using it sitting down

amazing keyboard for price

pewrfect stylinsh keyboard for laptop users who want a full size keyboard

the keyboard is slim (what i was researching since my old logitech) ; white leds instead of green/blue/orange ; also love the keys (laptop style suspension - not the best for gaming but still works nice)

no scroll lock/prnt screen/pause(break) buttons

impressive

It's so nice, I sometimes don't want to type on it.

The pictures don't do this justice. The keys are responsive and feel great. It's very well manufactured this is not a flimsy keyboard. It works great with PC as well. Ordering a second one for another G5

The black PC version seems to be discontinued

Good but could have been better with minor tweaks

I bought this keyboard mainly because of its particular key layout, namely the big "Return" key and the normal sized "backspace" key. This combination is very hard to find on an english keyboard and its exactly what i was looking for.

Very good quality for the price, nice look. Note the slightly different key layout before buying: the / key is positioned differently to make place for the big sized enter key

No Print Screen button (no driver or software to fix that on the product site either) ; Cord is shorter than on other keyboards i had ; The power led stays on even when PC is off and is way too bright, looks more like a flashlight led

Very bad if you want to program on a mac

Nice look and feel

The keyboard arrangement is deranged. They put the pipe character "|" next to the spacebar. If you're working with ruby then you use this character quite frequently and its very awkward placement vastly increases the number of mistakes you make....

Bad labelling and quality

I got this to save about $30 compared to buying a replacement keyboard from Apple. Penny wise, pound foolish.

Until it broke, it would have been a decent PC keyboard

Mac keyboards have labels on the funtion keys indicating things like pause/play (F8), mute volume (F10), etc. This keyboard had none of those labels, making it harder to use to control the Mac ; Then, within the first few days we had it, the "K" keycap...
