Logitech G610/G810 review: A modern twist on a classic and understated design

Logitech's G610 and G810 are the most restrained keyboards we've seen from the company in a while, though it's a shame RGB lighting is restricted to the Romer-G variants.

Excellent RGB lighting and easy software ; Restrained, unassuming design ; Very stiff, tactile media keys ; Excellent RGB lighting and easy software ; Restrained, unassuming design ; Very stiff, tactile media keys

Romer-G switches are still "just okay" ; Weird placement of Caps/Scroll/Num Lock indicators ; Romer-G switches are still "just okay" ; Can't get Cherry-enabled G610 variant with RGB lighting ; Weird placement of Caps/Scroll/Num Lock indicators

Okay, I don’t like Romer-G switches and I wish the G610 came with RGB backlighting Cherry switches. Nothing here is perfect.

Logitech G610 Orion Brown

Although they pack few fancy features, Logitech's G610 Orion Red and Brown keyboards offer simple, reliable performance that mechanical keyboard enthusiasts will appreciate.

Solid build quality with reliable Cherry MX key switches. Programmable white backlighting.

Doesn't feel quite as bulletproof as some other Cherry MX keyboards. No USB or audio ports. No clicky key switch options.

Logitech's G610 Orion Red and Orion Brown keyboards are admirable attempts to appeal to keyboard purists who swear by Cherry MX key switches and don't want the multicolored lighting of the Romer G–using G810 and G910 keyboards. Both versions of the...

Logitech G610 Orion Review — Cherry On Top

The Orion is a keyboard with no fancy extras, for better and worse. Features like RGB lighting go by the wayside, facilitating a lower price tag and more streamlined software. The G610's dignified design and discrete media buttons are just as...

Authentic Cherry MX keys ; Cheaper than full RGB keyboards ; Discrete media control buttons

No Blue or Green options ; Lighting effects seem superfluous ; Feels like a stripped-down G810

The Logitech G610 Orion doesn't offer a ton of options, but what's there is clean, functional and excellent for both typing and gaming.

Logitech G610 Orion

The G610 Orion deploys familiar Cherry MX key switch technology in a smart, understated design.

It's light on features, but the typing experience is second-to-none.

Logitech G610 Orion Brown Keyboard Review

Logitech's G610 Orion Brown is a slightly overhauled version of an otherwise familiar product. Although it looks almost identical to the more upmarket G810 Orion Spectrum and the older G610 Orion Spectrum, the Orion Brown is somewhat different in its...

Fairly sturdy construction ; Simple, unassuming looks ; Very stable, does not move around at all

Keycaps are mediocre at best ; Confused styling ; Limited features ; Only available with MX Red or Brown ; Cannot be disassembled readily

A more familiar alternative for those who like Logitech’s keyboards but not their switches, the G610 offers a sleek look for those not too concerned with all the bells and whistles of more expensive keyboards.

Logitech G610 Orion Red

Whether playing to win or just for enjoyment, you need the appropriate tools in order to succeed in the competitive gaming arena.

The Logitech G610 Red is a well constructed keyboard that will provide a range of customisable features to supplement its main task of helping the user come out top during games. Logitech has priced this keyboard at £104.99.

Logitech G610 Orion Blue keyboard review

We were impressed with the last Logitech keyboards we reviewed. The G810 was our favourite all-rounder for typing and gaming. However, we also checked out the G610 Orion Brown. The difference here is the switches – the Brown uses Cherry MX Brown mech...

A well-built Cherry MX Blue keyboard ; Good for some typists

Expensive ; Can still make fingers hurt ; Noisy

Logitech's keyboard feels very solid and the keys are stiff and clicky like Cherry Blues should be. They're for typists not gamers but even so, they can make your fingers hurt after a while.

LOGITECH G610 Orion Brown Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

I love the feel of the key switches.

The lights don't always work in Linux without a reboot.
