Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard

Microsoft and Razer are at it again, this time releasing a gaming keyboard with a few tricks up its sleeve. Can the Reclusa achieve the same success as the Habu? And is this alliance really a bid for world domination?

Attractive design with blue backlighting. Soft and cushy keys. Solid software. Two USB hubs can handle modest input devices.

No Windows Start key disabler. Extreme gamers might demand more macro keys and more than eight keypresses. No option to turn off backlight.

Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard: AU Review

Over the last few years, we've had a plague of gaming mice taking care of that side of the hand-PC equation, but gaming keyboards are about as common ...

Where it suffers most is the price. With a retail price of AU$119.95, or around US$60 in the States, the Reclusa simply can't compete with other keyboards in the same price bracket. The G15 retails for twenty Aussie bucks less, and comes with a funky...

Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard

Recently Microsoft made a number of headlines by teaming up with Razer on Habu gaming mouse. The two combined efforts in order to bring some of Razer's gaming expertise to Microsoft's hardware line and the result was a very solid product. The Habu put...

Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard

We took a look at Microsoft and Razer's first team effort a few weeks ago with our Habu review. Overall, we were left very impressed. Will we receive the same reaction from the new Reclusa gamers keyboard?

I've covered the software, so I’ll give you my subjective impressions of the board. The key action is good, and is very similar to other Microsoft keyboards you may have used, without excessive play or travel in the keys.

Microsoft Reclusa

While comfortable and responsive, the gaming keyboard's scant features and numerous flaws don't even come close to justifying the price.

Smooth subtle design, Decent backlighting, Superb keys, Leatherette wrist rest

Severely limited macro abilities, Lacks dedicated media controls, Lousy volume control, Overpriced

Microsoft Razer Reclusa

The Microsoft Razer Reclusa is the second product to be released from the two companies. While it may look quite out of this world, it's functions are well placed and the Razer software rounds up the package. We take a close look at all the additional...

Great price/performance ; A lot of solid functions ; Razer Software very easy to use ; Great build quality ; Quiet keys ; Very comfortable wrist rest ; 5 independent profiles for customization ; Gold plated USB plug and connectors ; Even and strong...

Loud space bar ; Keyboard stand without rubber tips ; No microphone & headphone jacks

It is hard to find anything wrong with the Microsoft Razer Reclusa, especially at the given price point. With a price point quite similar to the Saitek Eclipse II, you get more than just a simple back-lit keyboard. The Reclusa is mostly very silent and...

Microsoft Reclusa

Sporting a fancy blue backlight and a stylish black colour scheme, Microsoft's latest entry into the gaming peripherals market, the Reclusa keyboard, ...

Blue backlight, Responsive

Features not as good as some other competing models that are available

A good all-around keyboard, the Reclusa won't offer the same functionality as some competing products, but it is more than adequate for gamers who are after a stylish, simple option.
