X-Gene 01030 Black 103 Normal Keys 23 Function Keys USB 2.4 RF Standard Wireless Media Center Edition Keyabord w/ Optical Trackball

Would buy this keyboard again if I happened to need another wireless unit.

Like this keyboard. First wireless unit I have ever owned and I thought I was going to have problems. Nope! Awesome Keyboard! Never misses a keystroke in the whole room, and even works through a wall or quite a distance away (like 40 ft) fairly...

Took a couple tries to bind it to the dongle. Worked fine after that

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Returned it. The END.

Really like the design, wish it would have worked for me, Since some people gave it a good review I considered just exchanging it, but then opted not to chance it.

Nice Design and layout, Number Pad, Full size KB. Scroll wheel ; Trackball ; Newegg excellent return service

Erratically right out the box. Trackball was jerky and jumped or skipped instead of sliding, or just will not move at all. Scroll wheel will not Scroll. and after just 4 days the left click button stopped working. Calibration or changing ID's did not...

Broke after 2 Weeks

They misspelled words on the back of the keyboard. Instead of typing HOME, they typed FOME... For FOME and OFFICE use only?!... I should have returned it when I saw that.

Nice design. Good on battery life (assuming with auto shutoff feature)

Optical broke after 2 weeks. It started acting funny, but then would not work at all. The keyboard in whole, felt very fragile

Not very reliable

Whether it is the wireless connectivity of this keyboard or the keyboard itself working intermittently I cannot say for sure. But I can say this keyboard has been hugely frustrating for me. I could not type e-mails without missing at least one letter...

Nice layout. Attractive. Lots of hot keys for MCE. Compact

Either wireless connection to computer is unreliable or the keyboard itself is intermitent. Tactile feel of keys not very good. No customer support that I could find

Great Distance, Not So Great Typing

The keyboard is full size which is fine with me and the extra media buttons are nice.

Has very long range which is what I primarily wanted. I wanted to be able to sit on my couch and use the keyboard without problems (computer sitting near or behind TV). Not only can I do that but I can go down to the bedroom at the other end of the...

The keys themselves are not easy to type on. When using keyboards I usually don't feel I have to press to hard to get a response, but with this keyboard I sometimes have to be very deliberate and apply extra force. Especially if you try to press a key...

X-Gene 01030 Black 103 Normal Keys 23 Function Keys USB 2.4 RF Standard Wireless Media Center Edition Keyabord w/ Optical Trackball

looking to upgrade to vist ultimate so anxious to see how it works with media center

nice design, good features. track ball tracks well...no wondering. scroll feature is great...all mouse features work great

backspace key will stick from time to time and erase all script you may be typing...quite annoying! keystrokes won't register occasionally w/out hard stroking. seems to clear up after a few strokes. dropped off line just once but able to reconnect...

X-Gene 01030 Black 103 Normal Keys 23 Function Keys USB 2.4 RF Standard Wireless Media Center Edition Keyabord w/ Optical Trackball

Relocate receiver and change batteries and you should be good to go, works well with vista ultimate.

This keyboard works well. I use it with a media center pc so it gets light use as a keyboard. I really like the media functions and hot key, great for playing video and audio. I love the fact is has a built in trackball. Make sure you locate the usb...

It does feel a little cheap and flimsy. I would still buy it again thought

Great keyboard, but broke!

It's contruction isn't great, but if it's reliable then I'm good with it. I guess some more time will tell.

I like the layout and everything responds pretty well. It's great for a home theater system. The size is just right for around the living room. I use(d) it with my LCD TV and just love surfing from the couch.

After about 2 weeks of use it started sending out the Ctrl button signal, which naturally freaks out the computer. I hope to get it replaced. Maybe it's just a bad egg (no pun intended). It's not the best feeling keyboard, but fine for casual use.
