Great little netbook

I swapped out the HDD and RAM for a nice, fast SSD and 2 GB stick as soon as I got it. Currently have Windows 7 Pro x64 and Lubuntu dual-booted - it boots to either very quickly. A couple other things to note: * Don't try Windows 8. Native screen...

Price, obviously. Tiny and lightweight - every bit as portable as a tablet, in my opinion. Battery life - I don't know what it's like stock, but I get 6 hours easily with the SSD I threw in. HDMI. 3 USB ports (2 on the right side, 1 on the left).

Keyboard is usable, but don't expect to type at your full rate. Kind of a pain to disassemble, compared to laptops anyway. Speaker and webcam quality are even worse than I'd anticipated. 1 GB stock RAM is pretty meh. High-gloss surface means lots of...

Great Over Achiever

Best used as a PC for trips. Small size fits easily in my camera backpack. Need a real PC for downloading and viewing photos, printing boarding passes and using internet. Still available on some websites. A shame, this netbook shows the concept was...

Dual core. Fast for a netbook. Installed ADATA 4GB memory and 256GB SSD loaded with Windows 7 Pro 32bit all from Newegg. The System window says 2.99GB of memory is usable. Boots so fast the colored balls on the start screen never show. A YouTube video...

Small, Chiclet keyboard, no optical drive, more difficult to get to hard drive and memory than laptops, disappearing fast.

Be all the netbook you can be

Installing a 4GB RAM and win7 ultimate, made this netbook to perform acceptably(it is a netbook after all), I will have to try with Ubuntu. The SSD upgrade is not worth it on this machine. You can get this same netbook brand new for the same price at...

this is everything a notebook has to be with its ups and downs. Out of the box it looks good, and this thing is very portable with excellent battery life. Can be upgraded with some effort, and this is the netbook you can carry around, beat up, and not...

If you need to do more than web browsing and office work, forget about this, even with upgrades it will not perform to acceptable levels. Gaming? forget it, unless you're playing sudoku or tetris. Upgrading is difficult specially if have no experience...

Great little netbook

I would recommend this to anyone wanting an inexpensive netbook for casual computing -- emails, word processing, social media. If you want a netbook for gaming, you are an odd duck and will find yourself out of luck. An ultrabook is more along the...

This netbook has a sleek design, so it is visually appealing. Quick to boot, and handles all of the tasks that you would perform on a netbook. It is trivial to upgrade the memory to 2 Gb, so I would *highly recommend it*. I purchased this as a birthday...

Windows 7 Starter. Enough said with that. If this were my netbook, I would install some flavor of linux. Windows Starter is rather awful. Additionally, there is quite a bit of crapware installed. Once you remove all of the garbage, there is a...

Great little PC

While I haven't been on a trip with it yet, using it for lots of hours as I set it up and added programs have shown me it will be a blast and very handy. Many thanks to NewEgg for such a good deal.

My familiarity with Windoze made this netbook easy to use. I bougt this one to take with me on my travels - my Android tablet simply was not up to the task. The Gateway is quick, well built, and the 6 cell battery does last a long, long time - and is...

It's a bit difficult to upgrade the system memory - since it can be done, Gateway should have made it easier.

Gateway, always a good choice!

All in all an excellent buy for $179, no tax, and free shipping. Gateway reliability has always been good. Take advantage of this deal, come next year I doubt there will be many net books available.

Build quality, good keyboard, exceptional battery life, portable.

average processor speeds, not enough hard drive capacity

Gateway Netbook

It works great!, but it is alittle slow ; Which was something I was expecting ; Plays music and videos fine, no glitching ; I love how small it is so there is no hassle when traveling

The only thing I didn't like about this netbook was the limitations 'Windows 7 Starter' offers however I did find some work arounds

Awesome Device

I upgraded this to 2 gigs of ram and it runs almost flawlessly. I tried linux mint live on it and it ran almost flawlessly. Will most likely be installing linux side by side with windows and if it is better, I will be wiping out windows 7 starter...

A fully functional netbook for under $200. This thing has 2 physical cores and 2 virtual

Memory was a little low. Windows 7 starter. Intel graphics are a Joke. Keyboard has a 2-3 second delay after using touchpad and both cannot be used at the same time, which is really annoying you are entering fields on websites and after right clicking,...
