Great Deadl

A great deal for those with a limited budget.

Only con was that it was shipped with only 512 mem stick, but can't complain.

Nice laptop

Upgraded to 2meg of ram and and a 4000mw battery and things ran better.

Light weight. Easy to operate

Vista is a power hog and needs more than 512mg ram. Little switches on front of unit are not a good thing. It took me sometime to figure out that I needed to push the switch to make the wireless work. Bad design. The battery is only good for 1 hour

Very handy little laptop.

Reformat, and reinstall the OS, and get rid of all the junk software that comes with it, and you'll have a snappy performer. Oh and, upgrade to atleast 1 Gig of ram.

Nice sleek design, nice keyboard layout, upgradability, nice screen, and graphics chipset ; I threw in an extra gig of memory, formatted, and installed XP Professional, instead of the Vista, and voila, it's suddenly a pretty snappy performer. It does...

Nothing much really, except maybe, a bigger and longer lasting battery. But it's available as an upgrade option, aftermarket

Best Value For The Money

This is a great little machine. There were two things I did to make it better, added a gig of ram and upgraded to Vista Home Premium. Total cost, about 140.00 but get much better performance and graphics are great. One of the first things you should do...

Great price, great performance, easily upgradeable

Acer software installed. Vista Home Basic

Good buy

You can easily upgrade this PC to make it rival a $1000 one. I upgraded to 120 gb hard drive, 2 gigs of ram, a dvd burner, and bought a wireless mouse and it didn't cost over $700.

Very lightweight, easily upgradable to up to 4 gigs of ram, some of the acer software is helpful, amd graphics are far better then the standard Intel GMA950

The case is difficult to take apart which is a problem if you want to take it apart to install a new hard drive or ram. You have to be very careful not to break the little plastic tabs, but thats about it. It has an average battery life of about 1.5...

Not a Bad Deal

For four T bills you can upgrade to 2Ggs ram from newegg. So bottomline price is still under 6 hundred.

A good deal for what it is and my expectations were low for this laptop. It performs as good as it well with Vista

I thought moving down to a 14" widescreen laptop would give me a smaller lighter machine to work with but it is actually as large as any 15" laptop. Seems I'll have to move on down to the 12" market

Runs Awesomely Awesome

Its so awesomely awesome, like I added a 512mb stick on ram into it that came free at the time of purchase, and like it ran soo nicely with Windows Vista. It was like soo cool ; Another pro was like, it was like wow, this thing weighs like 5 pounds...

None that I can think of

Great value laptop

Overall a fantastic laptop! Vista is a go, but I would run it with more RAM. XP runs ok with 512mb. The sound driver issue is really whats hurting my score of this otherwise great little laptop!

This laptop is very impressive for just 5 benjamins! Sharp screen for working or for watching movies. RAM upgradeable to 4GB (2x2gb). The little Sempron CPU works hard and fast. Gets the job done

The 512 MB RAM is definetely a bottleneck and works the HDD hard. If you are not worried about blazing performance, this laptop performs fine. I am running XP and laptop came with no driver CD, just a recovery Vista DVD. I was bummed. I went to Acer's...

Mandriva and Umuntu install with out issue and can be tried out with a live CD 1st.

Great computer for the money. Great for school or just surfing the internet

Windows Vista sucks! I would not recommend upgrading to it! I played with it for 45 mins and then formated the Hard drive and installed Linux. The computer runs so much better
