DOOM 3 mid-range, low-end, and vintage gfx comparo

WE'VE ALREADY examined DOOM 3's performance on the newest generation of high-end...

DOOM 3 will no doubt drive a wave of hardware upgrades among hard-core gamers who want to enjoy the game at the highest resolutions and detail levels, but it's comforting to know the game is playable on lesser graphics cards. Medium Quality doesn't...

DOOM 3 high-end graphics comparo

DOOM 3 HAS ARRIVED, and it's already turning the PC hardware world on...

Well, we've seen some striking performance differences and practically no substantial variances in image quality between the various cards we've tested in DOOM 3. In HQ mode, DOOM 3 looks spectacular on any of these cards.

Acer Aspire 2930 review

Acer's Aspire impressed us with its specifications and performance, but it comes at a price

Amazing

I won't really use this laptop for gaming (thats what desktop PCs are for), so I can't really say how well it runs games. It runs simple games like cards and popcap games (peggle, zuma, stuff like that). There is a lot of great hardware in this for the...

An extremely high quality product, as I have come to expect from Acer. Everything runs fast and smooth right out of the box. Has the look and feel of a laptop from a much higher price bracket. I don't usually care for integrated speakers, but the one...

It only comes with trial Microsoft Office so I had to buy a copy. That is to be expected with almost all new laptops and desktops

Pretty good

Gets pretty hot after gaming for a few hours, but with a few lego bricks under the back feet it gets more air. :)

Widescreen, built in webcam, graphics card and the other things mentioned. Pretty good for running Call of duty 4, almost no lag on medium settings

The USB ports on the right side are very annoying (mousing) when all the ones on the left are used up. Of course the HDD had two partitions, but what really grinds my gears is the wireless, I'm dropped quite frequently. With my tower I almost never get...

Excellent! As expected and more!!!

I was also throughly pleased to find out, I also like other users who purchased this laptop, Received a unit with a 512mb 8400m graphics card. This unit also comes pre-overclocked by 8%. the GPU clock default is 400Mhz. And my unit came pre-clocked at...

Has everything I need! Card reader, 160gb hard drive, DL DVD writer, Dual core cpu, dedicated graphics card (instead of the prefab integrated style they usually put in laptops), Plays UT2003 flawlessly, 2gb of memory, XP drivers are available so I...

Bluetooth button but no bluetooth hardware. Not really a con, just very odd to reuse a shell for a particular series and miss a detail like that. usually the manufacturer would relabel the key and give it a new function of some sort ; Thats just weird

Excellent, for the price

The specs are awesome, read them and you'll see what a great deal this machine is. If you don't like vista, get rid of it and install the OS of your choice (OSX86 won't work on this machine, darn shame). Battery life is so, so. I'm very happy with this...

This laptop has awesome specs, it works great but just like any laptop you have to tweak it to get it up to your liking. The display is really sharp, it looks way better than more expensive laptops I've seen. Performance is very good, not great but...

I'm still trying to get used to vista and it's quirks, I know this machine would kill with XP but I already invested too much time adding software, I'm kinda lazy like that. The touchpad as everyone has stated, is extremely sensitive and you can't...

Great laptop

Newegg 3 day standard shipping - I had it in two days.

This laptop has a lot of great features, especially for the price. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive laptop, definitely consider this model. It's cheap, powerful, and efficient

There were a few issues with this laptop ; Keyboard lag - if you're a fast typer, you may notice some short hang ups before everything is printed to the screen ; Sensitive mouse pad - You can use the Touchpad icon in the system to disable tapping on...

Excellent price, Excellent laptop

A comment I saw very often before buying this was that the keyboard lagged and that the mouse pad was too sensitive especially during typing. Personally I am a programmer and I type at a moderate to fast speed, and I haven't noticed any real problem....

Outstanding hardware specs for the price, unbeatable considering the price range. Excellent set of features included, very very functional laptop. Works perfectly out of the box

I personally dont like all the software that comes installed with a consumer brand computer, but thats a personal preference and i plan on reformatting to linux/vista dual boot anyways

Great Laptop

Newegg is awesome with their low prices and super fast shipping. I ordered this on tuesday and got it thursday!!!

This laptop is blazing fast with the dual core AMD processor and 2GB or RAM. The dedicated VRAM is a nice touch too. The is the nicest laptop I've ever owned, and by far the cheapest I've ever purchased too! Buy this laptop, you can't beat the features...

The touch pas as indicated in other reviews is a bit sensitive. It can get a little jumpy when your finger gets close to the bottom or right side since that is where the scroll is on the pad. It is not a major issue, it just takes some getting used to
