Review Acer Aspire 5552G Notebook

Structured. Simplicity is convincing. The mainstream 15.6" all-rounder goes without aluminum and high-gloss (mostly). The non-slip surfaces are pleasant, but they are no good for boasting. We'll clarify which office and multimedia qualities the 5552G has.

Quiet and cool, Resistant surfaces, Good touchpad, Low idle power consumption, Resistant, but also conservative plastic surfaces that don't inevitably look "cheap

Short battery life, Poor 3D performance, TFT not AR coated, Poor contrasts, TFT too dark (outdoors), Spongy keys, Few interfaces, A matt display would have made the 15.6 incher to a good office laptop

A bright, vibrant screen and strong usability can't mask the weak performance

Acer Aspire 5552 review

If there's one thing Acer's laptop line-up isn't short of, it's budget models. The latest one to grace our laboratory is the Aspire 5552. It can be snapped up for the paltry sum of £300 from Laptops Direct . That's as cheap as most netbooks , yet the...

Extremely low price; good performance for the money; sturdy build quality.

Only one integrated speaker; display's vertical viewing angles aren't great.

The 15.6-inch Acer Aspire 5552 is one of the cheapest laptops around, so its relatively decent performance and sturdy construction come as a very pleasant surprise.

Decent port complementGood performance.

Battery life suffers due to dedicated graphicsNo BluetoothNo 5GHz radioMono speaker.

The Aspire 5552G provides a decent package and a good whack of performance. We'd love more battery life and a 5GHz radio in there, but for the price it does reasonably well.

Great student laptop

Battery life: around 3 hours.

Good price for quality. Light and durable - has served me for over a year. Plays current generation games at low graphics settings

After about 3-4 months, the hard-drive would unexpectedly fails to be detected at start up. Resetting the computer usually resolves within 2-3 tries. Speakers are quiet and low quality, but nothing a headset can't fix. The biggest con is the keyboard....

Horrible Heat Management

Fast, efficient

Extreme heat issues, even with a notebook cooler. Horrible customer service. Hard drive crashed at 11 months of ownership, and Acer hasn't responded yet. Bought a replacement hard drive here out of my own pocket just to get the laptop up again. I am...

Absolutely Perfect

If you're looking for a cheap computer, there is no comparable laptop on the market, with that processor and graphics card you are getting the greatest bang for your buck, most complaints are due to people not understanding how little they paid. It is...

I can't imagine a better computer for the price. It has a powerful processor and a decent graphics card to back it up. Bought it to play Skyrim and Fallout NV and it sure as hell did that with only minor lag. Not sure if I'd buy it for gaming, but it's...

Most people claimed it overheats. I only recently started monitoring its temperature. With a cooling platform it idles around 45-51 Celsius and during intense gaming for several hours it can hover around 70 Celcius, but that's not really a problem...

Awesome Acer

Great Laptop, Especially for the price. Great performance nice specs, looks awesome, long battery life

It gets kinda of hot during gaming, had it shutdown once due to this, built myself a cooler for it and hasn't happened again. The built in graphics are a bit limited

Intermittent Freezing

Would be an excellent buy if wasn't for the random freezing. Will explore the manufacturers warranty.

Does what a laptop should do, web browsing, email, etc ; Price ; 4 Gb RAM ; Windows 7 ; DVD DL Burner

It gets pretty hot ; It freezes randomly during use. This is inconvenient when streaming movies, music, etc. as the whole system freezes for about 20-30 seconds and some applications are forced closed. The heat may be the reason ; Struggles when there...
