Acer Aspire 5634WLMi Review

Around mid-2006 I had considered either upgrading my Acer Travelmate 281 (Pentium 4M 1.8GHz; 256MB Ram; 20GB HDD; CD-Rom Drive) or replacing it. I had opted to go for another Acer as I was working for an electrical retailer in Australia at the time...

Very quiet and minimal heat ; Great for multitasking ; Dedicated media keys

Better graphics card would be preferable (Go 7400; 7600) ; No integrated Bluetooth ; No Windows XP Recovery DVDs included

Acer email support is appalling, however phone support was somewhat better, it tends to vary according to the individual you are dealing with. Their service partner Highpoint, are very helpful and professional, turnaround time is generally about 3 days...

Acer Aspire 5630-6672 Laptop

The Acer Aspire 5630-6672 comes with lots of perks, including more shortcut keys than our other winners. Each of these four buttons opens a frequently used function, such as the Internet, so you don't have to navigate menus.

Good overall performer, Good price

Screen sometimes difficult to see

The Aspire 5634WLMi has proved to be a good overall performer and a nice introduction to Acer's Core 2 Duo notebook range. For the price, you're getting an excellent deal.

Acer Aspire 5633WLMi review

The Aspire's unusual silvery green colour isn't our favourite.

Acer's Aspire 5630 isn't as smart as the Sony Vaio, but it's one of the better-looking notebooks here and a bargain at this price.

Acer Aspire 5634WLMi

The new Core 2 Duo Acer is a very dependable machine with some multimedia capability and an excellent screen.

Excellent LCD screen ; Dedicated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches ; Good performance

No ExpressCard ; Average battery life

While MobileMark2005 is a "real-world" test and uses applications such as Photoshop and Excel to determine the score, it is also out of the reach of most users due to its $1000 price tag. The synthetic benchmark PCMark05 is also a good barometer of...

Notebook The jazzed-up Acer Aspire offers a new look to accompany all the juicy new hardware inside

Intel's 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo T5600 CPU is at the heart of the Aspire and this, along with 1GB or DDR2 dual channel memory, helped push the notebook to a top WorldBench 5 score of 101. Storage is handled by a 120GB hard drive that Acer splits right down...
