Acer Aspire 6930G-6723

The 16-inch widescreen is nothing new in the laptop industry. We can expect a huge influx of laptops with a 16:9 aspect ratio by 2009. You're not exactly getting more screen real estate—just a wider screen to mimic the ones founds in consumer HDTVs....

Blu-ray reader included. Unbeatable price. Good performance scores. Good graphics card. Terrific typing experience. Generous feature set

A bit bulky

Equipped with a Blu-ray drive and generous performance parts for under $1,000, the 6930G has regained the Editors' Choice accolade for best value media center laptop that its predecessor lost.

Review Acer Aspire 6930G Notebook

The Aspire 6930G is another Acer notebook that could be interesti ...

Good price to performance ratio ; Stylish design ; Quiet during operation ; Decent sound of the loudspeakers

Flexing keyboard with glossy keys ; Short battery lifetime ; Some weakness in workmanship (although the chassis is quite solid)

The Aspire 6930G has a battery with the same capacity as the already reviewed Aspire 5930G (4400mAh, 48Whr). But, this model has a considerably shorter battery life. Why? Because of a CPU with higher thermal dissipation power (TDP). The Core 2 Duo...

Acer's Aspire 6930G-583G is a feature-packed media centre laptop that offers great value for money

Blu-ray drive ; Good graphics performance ; HDMI and eSATA

Heavy ; Average battery life

A solid performance and good multimedia capabilities mean this is a true multimedia machine for use around the home

Acer Aspire 6930G-583G notebook

We were particularly impressed with Acer's high-end Aspire 6920G when we tested it last year, but there's no getting away from the fact it was a pricey laptop. The range has since been replaced by the 6930 and 6935, which proves to be an update rather...

Excellent value for money, great usability, lots of features

Bulky, poor battery life

The most surprising aspect of this machine is just how much it offers for the money. We were already impressed with the high-end models, but now it’s also possible for those on a budget to get an incredibly well-specified multimedia centre. Mobility...

The immortal laptop

I've had a bunch of laptops over the years, and this one is arguably immortal. I've had it since 2009, and it. just. won't. die. Even today, it still runs games fairly decently. Back in the day, this laptop was able to run The Witcher when it first...

Excellent reliable laptop

very solid laptop that i bought in 2008. So far i've used it very aggressively. Recently the battery lost its power so I have to connect to power supply all the time. Besides that, this laptop is still running at the same capacity.

Battery lost live after 5 years of continuous service.

be 5 year old Acer in Jan 2014

Just realized I bought this in Jan 2009. Sound has finally started to act up when on for awhile but reformatting may fix that; I almost always have another screen with Visio tv and use the sound through it now. I think the screen is getting lighter...

dependable, hardy, decent color and sound.

VISTA on it, and cannot increase ram- has 2 2g sticks. I really really dislike keyboards on laptops in general and always have used wireless kb and mouse with it. I cannot comment on touchpad because I would not use it - got a mouse for it.
