Acer Aspire 9425WSMi

Suitable as a desktop-replacement notebook, the Acer Aspire 9425WSMi definitely has a lot of grunt under its hood, and plenty of useful features that ...

Performed very well in our WorldBench 6 tests; 2GB RAM; 160GB hard drive; comfortable to use

Reflections from the glossy screen can make for uncomfortable viewing; no FireWire; no ExpressCard slot; Acer's GridVista software didn't seem to work on our test unit; poor speakers for such a big unit

A good price point, decent features and great performance make this notebook a good choice if you're after a desktop replacement.

Acer Aspire 9423WSMi review

Affordable, feature-packed and an ideal entertainment PC

Good specification ; Generous storage ; Decent performance

Quite bulky

It may not be particularly portable, but otherwise it scores consistently high marks across the board

Acer Aspire 9423WSMi laptop

We have to admit that we like Acer notebooks. They have a no-frills approach to their design but what they lack in overall looks they make up for in value for money and general quality. If you're looking to replace your desktop PC with something just...

Good price, powerful, great screen

Heavy, average battery life

If you’re looking to replace your desktop PC with something just as robust that your family can share, the Acer Aspire 9423WSMi is a great option. We found it powerful for the price and its feature list makes it more than suitable for both parents and...

Acer Aspire 9425WSMi

Though it's not designed specifically with Windows Vista in mind, the Acer Aspire 9425WSMi certainly packs the specs which should carry it off.

If AntmaN reads this could he please email me with a link to the XP drivers he got for the Acer 9425WSMi. I've scoured the Acer European site and can't find them.

Excellent value

Dated design

Acer Aspire 9425WSMi

Brilliant, had it 2 months. For those bemoaning Vista, it ain't too bad & IS BETTER THAN XP (MS could do more for backward compat - and a lot of daft bugs in it).

Num pad, Seperate decent Vid card & mem, Lightweight for it's size (despite someone saying heavy), Robust

Keyboard misses presses when typing very fast, audio output so noisy (if plugged into external spkrs) I had to use a USB sound card (only cost £3) - TWO H/W DESIGN BUGS!! But really, it is FAB

Acer Aspire 9425WSMi

I've owned this laptop for 4 months now and absolutely love it. I use it primarily for the task of mobile pro audio production (running Win XP Pro), and it handles everything that I throw at it with ease.

Powerful, cheap, reliable, numeric keypad, nice screen

No firewire port. Drivers for Win XP were difficult to acquire, but I found them on Acer's European ftp site :)

Acer Aspire 9425WSMi

I've tried every source in Australia to try and order the Acer Aspire 9425WSMI with XP Pro and have been told by all that it only comes with Vista pre-installed so my only option is to buy one with Vista on it, reformat and install XP Pro. If the Acer...

Big bangs for the bucks. Lightning fast, big HDD, oodles of RAM, separate video card

Heavy
