Budget Specialness

 

All in all a good value for the price. If you don't mind the processor and want a budget laptop then you really can't go wrong.

Cheap, Battery Life (8 Cell), Decent Screen, DVD Writer, Current Drivers (Only the Intel Video Driver was not A-One current)

GREAT INEXPENSIVE LAPTOP!

 

If you want an inexpensive laptop you will be making a very good decision purchasing this machine. As I stated I sold 6 of these that I purchased from Newegg and all of my customers are very happy.

I have purchased and resold 6 of these. It is a fantastic, inexpensive laptop. It's pretty fast with enough memory and hard drive space. Granted it is not a gaming machine and it was not intended to be. It is perfect for business or personal use

2 partions using FAT 32 is not my choice but it works just fine. You can always repartion it with the right software so you do not have to buy an OEM version of Windows

After some work on my part a good value laptop. I also had to do same on the AS3108.

Good value Pentium M centrino,fast, long battery life (8 cell),100 mg HD added another 512 mem . Windows Media center ( really WinXP Pro with media add-ons

like all Acers ( I also have a 3108) HD is partioned 2 FAT partions, it comes with no software, you must do a backup to DVD as part of the setup to have a recovery disk. Most of the Acer Software caused probelms for me when I re partitioned and...

New egg is the best and fastest service I have ever seen

wireless signal is picked up easy, battery life, solid built

hard drive is partitioned and is set up in fat32 instead of ntsf, so some of my programs don't work, had to reformat it to ntsf

Excellent value for the $$$$. We have purchased 20 acer notebooks over the last 2 years. The only problem with any of them was a bad keyboard after several months of use. Acer promptly shipped a replacement

I hope you have your own help desk

 

I work in help desk aka hell desk and I've never experienced so many none user generated problems with a laptop before. It's too bad you can't rate these as 0 it's what they really deserve. We've other acer's that do not have these problems. Be careful...

Has everything you could possibly want with a laptop and it comes with a cheap price... but you get what you pay for

Company has bought 10 of these for our designers to use on the field. All of them have had problems with them, wifi cards failing, hard drives failing, cpu failing... At first we thought it was the users fault as it is in most cases but the problems...

My first ACER product

 

I'm not sold on MS XP Media, so may rebuild with XP Pro. I have no grief with the 100GB HD partitioned. Overall? I'm very satisfied. This ACER is equal to or better than any mid-range HP or Toshiba laptops I've used in the past.

So much content for reasonable price! Build quality seems fine and the layout is great. The screen aspect ratio is great for digital photography. Battery life is indeed 5+ hours as advertised. The built-in wireless works far better than my other...

Cooling fan noise can be noticed, but does not cycle often, and when it does cycle, it's no longer than 25 seconds. Speakers are probably the weakest feature, but speakers on a laptop...not important to me at all

Great Notebook

 

I bought an extra 512 MB of RAM and would recomend that you get the extra RAM.

Battery life is great compared to other laptops. 4 hours is what I usually get on a single charge. Screen is nice size and also bright. Wireless card was detected in Ubuntu with no problem

The volume as stated in other reviews is a bit low

Has It All

 

Very good bang for the buck!

Great little laptop. Great battery life, large hard drive, nice screen size, decent amount of RAM, pretty decent wireless card. Even though it's not mentioned anywhere, this unit burns CDs too (can't remember how fast; maybe 24x?)

No case included.. but c'mon, I'm really reaching here ;)

What a lap top

 

If you are thinking about getting this lap top, think no longer then 3.2 seconds. Go get it, trust me you will not regret your decision. Well done Acer.

I have used this lap top and can not say enough about it. The battery life is 5+ hours. Truly more then enough for most people. The screen is large and easy to read, the processor speed is quick, it runs efficiently and quiet. I'm glad I didn't get the...

I had to think long and hard but if I have anything to complain about, I would say it may need a bit more memory. 512 MB is OK but a gig would have sped it up a bit
