Acer Aspire One 532h review

Acer's maintained a steady lead in the race to sell as many netbooks as possible in the past year. That's largely because the Taiwanese manufacturer figured o...

Acer Aspire One 532h-2588

When the Apple iPad shipped, pundits noted that netbook sales declined. In fact, the iPad had little to do with the decline in netbook shipments--the decline had already begun well before Apple's tablet arrived in the hands of enthusiastic users.

Inexpensive ; Very compact

Display resolution is too limited ; Keyboard and touchpad are frustrating

In the 532h-2588, Acer has produced a very average netbook at a relatively low price, with all the drawbacks and strengths of the class.

Acer Aspire One 532h-2326

Acer is looking to stay ahead in the netbook market with its Aspire One 532h. Though it's not a tremendous upgrade over the previous Aspire One models, the 532h is a solid, decently priced netbook. Acer may have skimped a little on the keyboard and...

Machine has a sturdy overall feel ; Inexpensive

Keyboard very slippery and hard to type on ; Touchpad/mouse buttons poorly designed

The Aspire One 532h is reasonably priced, but the keyboard and touchpad could use a makeover.

Acer Aspire One 532h-2326 review: Acer Aspire One 532h-2326

Acer Aspire One 532h-2326

Solid Netbook for less than $300; great battery life.

Few frills; lackluster touch pad.

The Acer Aspire One 532h-2326 is just as good for basic tasks as Netbooks costing $100 more, making it a solid sub-$300 option.

Acer Aspire One (532h-2326)

With the Acer Aspire One (532h-2326), Acer improves the keyboard and battery life of its flagship netbook line, while keeping the price steady.

Almost 10 hours of battery life with new platform. Keyboard is now 93% of full size. Wider touchpad than its predecessor. Very inexpensive. New, lighter AC adapter.

Lacks design appeal. Mouse buttons need tuning.

Acer Aspire One (AO532h-2268)

The Acer Aspire One (AO532h-2268) is one of the most inexpensive netbooks in the business, and Costco is selling this one with a 2-year warranty and over 9 hours of battery life.

Over 9 hours of battery life with new Intel parts. Keyboard is now 93% of full size. Wider touchpad than its predecessor. Very inexpensive. New, lighter AC adapter. Two-year warranty.

Lacks design appeal. Mouse buttons need tuning.

Acer Aspire One AO532h

First things first: This is not a revolution. Although the Acer Aspire One AO532h boasts Intel's new Pine Trail processor, the Atom N450, it's no game changer. Instead, think of it as a highly polished evolution of the standard netbook.

Well-crafted; decent performance; excellent battery life; roomy hard drive; inexpensive

Still just an Atom-powered netbook; mushy keys; fingerprint magnet

Bloatware notwithstanding—and we definitely recommend you run PC Decrapifier on this machine as soon as you get it—the Aspire One AO532h is a well-crafted, refined, inexpensive netbook. As such, it is near the top of its class. But with the rise of...
