Acer Aspire 3935 review roundup: sleek and affordable, but lacking gaming cred

If you're in the market for a new laptop / netbook, you might want to add Acer's just-released Aspire 3935-6504 to the list of potentials. The early reviews ar...

Acer Aspire 3935-6504 review: Acer Aspire 3935-6504

Acer Aspire 3935-6504

Slim, polished design; powerful for a sub-$1,000 13-inch laptop; good battery life.

Wimpy touch pad, VGA-only video output; some parts feel quite plastic.

Thin, sexy 13-inch laptops are reasonably common, but the Acer Aspire 3935 is one of the slickest available for less than $1,000.

For a notebook it is very quick, has plenty of storage. easy to carry around. excellent support from Acer. I used to use a Toshiba and also had use of a HP. This Acer knocks them into the sidelines.

- Sleek design, great for traveling! - It's an Acer! - Excellent smooth running of Windows Vista and I have upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 64bit which it deals with superb - 4gb of DDR3 Ram makes a huge impact - 2.4ghz processor is excellent -...

- Not having a CD drive. This isn't a bad point per se, but during a dvd installation of a windows 7 upgrade it was a pain as I had to get an external. Generally though I don't find this a problem. In fact it's the only time that I've needed a disk...

Acer Aspire 3935-864G32

Fantastic little laptop! About the size of a piece of A4 paper, so fits perfectly in a school/work bag. Powerful processor. Quirky design/colour scheme (not for everyone, but I really like it!) Now sub £600 it really packs everything you could need...

GMA graphics chip not great, but that said, not experienced any problems with Photoshop/3D packages, but definitely not capable of hi-def gaming! Battery life of around 3.5 hours in the real world (about 2.5 if your running on full power). Not great,...

Acer Aspire 3935-864G32

Light weight good sized screen fast processor very good key board

battery life a little bit disapointing but Ok - about 2 1/2 hrs on high performance wireless connection seems a bit erratic at times - perhaps settleing down - am monitoring RAM a bit odd - only shows as 3001Mb not 4000Mb - checked and 4Gb (2x2Gb)...

Looks the business. Very neat, stylish, quality product. Very light and portable.

Purchasers should understand there's no DVD drive/burner so need to also buy an external DVD drive.
